Starter 500 points

500 points:
1x Archon with venom blade and shadow field-95
10x Kabalite warriors, one splinter cannon-100
10x wyches, 2 with haywire grenades-104
3x Reavers, 1 cluster caltrop-86
1x Ravager with nightshield-115

This is a very basic list but one you could play with straight away with a battleforce and Archon.

Any opinions and comments would be helpful.

How are you making the ravager?

I take it he means how do you get a Ravager out of the battleforce?

I hear that some people convert Raiders into Ravagers, using spare Warrior/Scourge DLs, but you only get one of those. I suppose, with a bit of work, you could make a Ravager with two DLs and one Dissie, but that's not exactly an optimal load-out.

I converted mine, but it takes both the splinter cannon, the dark lance and two kabalites.

I think a far better bet is two battle forces.
Yes its more, but you just get so many more options, and its not that much more.
Two Raider Wyches for troops
Trueborn for Elites

The Archon alone is almost as much as a squad, and he is easily convertable from spare parts.

Oh, I used the spare dark lance and I had another one but if you don't you could always buy it from eBay or something and than just painted the sail red, It's not optimal but it useful until you buy a proper one at which point I converted it back to a raider.

The Caltrops on only 3 bikes... I'd like to put forth that they are not a good choice and are overpriced, or just a terrible item, depending on your view of them. You'd be far better off tossing it and bringing in Blasters and other upgrades where you can (like Haywire for your wyches).

It may even be worth using an Arena Champ instead, allowing you to use the Reavers in tandem with the Wyches for an added CC punch.

Beyond that, I don't know, you're walking and I have a phobia of walking with my DE.

I think this one's better than the one before.

Where will you put the Archon? I'm guessing you're planning to put the Wyches in the Raider, but that will be full then.

I would also avoid putting too many upgrades on the Reavers; a squad of 3 is fragile enough as it is, no need to make it a point sink.

Drop a wych, you could leave reavers as is, they will work fine, just play them smart. They will do wonders at be the Coup de Grace for drawn out CC...

Also ... I know the test was to build a functional army out of the BF but if you pick up another boat for those warriors, it would go pretty far.

I would put the Reavers in reserve so they don't get shot down straight away and when they do get in the opponent will be busy with the wyches so they can get straight into the fray unopposed.
