Cult of Bladed Violet & Kabal of Violet Storm - DE witches conversion!

Hey all!

I'm too lazy to write the fluff here and all. I'll get to that later (next 2 years maybe...).

I started collecting DE wyches and Lelith 2012 christmas. I had at that time a small force of necrons, CSM and SM. So I thought "There is no ladies in my collection! I have to fix this! Hm... I could make an army of badass girls with DE!". In the end, the fluff and evilness of the army attracted me more and more. And so, here I am.

I'm a slow painter so updates could be rare. I'm not even going to upload any finished minis on this first post, only a WIP.

The legs are scourge legs, arms are wyches. Torso are from here, head is from hasslefree miniatures eldar female heads. The heads are bald, so you have to make your own head/hood/helm to cover it. Unless you want a bald head.

I'm an amateur when it comes to sculpting and using green stuff. Took me some good hours getting here, but I'm willing to make more hair and heads for practise. The braid was made of green stuff, but I'm not satisfied with the results. I'm gonna need to find an alternative method for making these (tips & advice is appreciated!)

Tell me what you think so far? Does the face look good? Does the hair look good? Do you want a tutorial when I get better at it?

Never tried sculpting a braid so to my inexperienced eyes it looks pretty darnn good. I like the look of the overall conversion, it looks very Grecian which i dig. I like the face but to me the join with the hair is not quite right. Could be just the photo but there looks like a bit too much of a gap where the face meets the hairline. Like where you are going with this project

Thanks for the kind words spellcheck, hearing from you (my inspiring conversionalist!) makes me happy. I agree that the hairline is a bit off, it is actually noticeable on the mini if you look carefully. I just have to make a better job next time. I'm going to fix the braid tip and attach it to the head. But I might be skipping my braid, I got a hold of braids from the scourge and wych box which looks much better.

I'll be making five of these Grecian wyches, since I got the bodies for em. High-five for female greek warriors!

really like the conversion, maybe, someday, it'll have a left hand!

@Alino, the left arm is resting and awaiting to be painted. But the point is that there is a arm reserved.

I relied on the sunlight to give me good lightning. Bad idea since the sun disappeared during it all and I switched to a lamp that makes everything look yellow...

I like the sense of movement you have got from using the scourge legs. They look great and liking the colour scheme [although the pictures are coming up rather small when i click the link, looking from tablet). Looking forward to see this army progressing

I like those models, they look very nice. Their highlights make them look really good. Also, using the scourge legs on them makes them look more agile then their original poses

It's been silent here for some time...

Thanks spellcheck, been working hard on those fleshtones and mixing them up.

The wych on the last pic have been done for like a month. I've just not had the time or energy to take a picture. I'll try and do that during these days when all the festives have calmed down... Before new year.

Anyways, just wanted you guys to know I'm currently working on dark elves witch elves. I'm gonna do some conversions and non-conversions to mix them in with my wyches. Any tip on conversion ideas and stuff would be nice!

I bought myself a box of the dark elf wyches recently to convert too. They are gorgeous models and hopefully will mix well with the DE bits. Lots of arm and head swaps with the wych kits is what I have planned so far but my bits box is bursting with some funky parts which I plan to mix in. I look forward to seeing your conversions. Maybe I can pinch a idea or two

Not bad at all, always fun to see other purple Dark Eldar. Very fun to see other purple wyches, seeing how I've been painting some of my wyches as well.

One lil suggestion: try out light blue hair, looks so good with this color sheme, trust me. (on the next wyches you'll paint)

Take those pictures, you've got at least 2 fans waiting :p

@Khain, oh yes I will try out blue hair. My wyches don't have any unified equipment, skin or hair. Blue hair will appear!

Now, first off my finally finished hekatrix. Her head is from hasslefree minis, her hair is self sculpted but her braid is from the wych box I believe. The torso is amazon warriors from conversion labs.

After some very busy weeks and months, I have finally started working on my DE again.
I've gotten a new job, got sent away to another city to work (and moved there now), travelling to china and felt exhausted the last few weeks (ye im lazy).

And now I've gotta fix flickr so I can post pictures since they've changed login methods. Something about yahoo account and that. But I don't know my logins or passwords...

But I promise I'll post pics and WIPS when I get the account sorted!
