| You may or may not be aware of the price hikes that will come into effect from the 1st of June. Here is how it will affect YOU (prices in Pound Sterling).
Codex: Dark Eldar, £17.50 to £20.00 Kabalite Warriors and Wych box sets, £15.50 to £18.00 Ravager, 25p increase, included out of a sense of completeness.
Several metal blisters and boxed sets will be repackaged and made as part of the new Finecast range, with of course, a price hike.
Archon, £8.20 to £9.50 Lelith Hesperax, £8.20 to £10.50 Urien Rakarth, £8.20 to £10.50 Succubus, £8.20 to £9.50 Incubi, £18.50 to £23.00 Mandrakes, £18.50 to £20.50
What does this mean to you? Assuming you already have the codex, it would be worth stocking up on some Warriors and Wyches, I know I will be, if only for the future. The Battleforce will become better value in the future and is a great release for new Dark Eldar players.
Incubi see quite a dramatic increase. I am not going to knock the Finecast release yet as we have not recieved a full announcement on the matter, nor have I seen one, held one, converted one. For me, if the detail is better and easier to convert then an extra £1 or so for a character is fine by me.
See http://darksphere.co.uk/ for a full list. As an army we have not been hit as hard as others. Worth a look.

| That's... not as bad as I thought it would be. At the moment, all I see is me getting 2 or 3 less sodas from the vending machine. | |

Exactly. Price increases are par for the course with GW. Wargaming period is an expensive hobby. Some people spend the money on cars or computer tinkering, we spend it on little toy soldiers.

Unfortunantly I also spend it on mountain bikes, motorbikes, computers..... aswell as living. I sometimes wonder how younger players are supposed to afford the hobby. I have to get permision to buy stuff off the girlfriend, lol. The warriors and wyches price increase is a bit of a shame. I have enough luckily (using old models too). I'd probably just get the battleforce now if I wanted more. The character price increases are a bit over the top. Luckily I never planned on buying Urien or Lileth. I have old ones I can use on the rare occasion I field them (read - never so far). The incubi too is quite an increase. I will assume there's no difference in the physical model. So that's a shame. I will carry on using my old incubi.

Ha! Thou art defeated! (+XP for me for working in a Dragon Warrior reference.) My woman lets me spend whatever I want, so long as I spend equal amounts on her.

This is my biggest issue with the price increases every year (and now the sales ban to overseas buyers). Soon enough it will only be us Old Guard that are playing and that will be only because we already have plenty of toys.

| US and Canadian price increases for plastic kits from TGN: CODEX DARK ELDAR (ENGLISH) US$29.00 to US$33.00 Cdn$34.75 to Cdn$39.50
DARK ELDAR KABALITE WARRIORS US$24.75 to US$29.00 Cdn$29.74 to Cdn$34.75
DARK ELDAR WYCHES US$24.75 to $29.00 Cdn$29.75 to $34.75
DARK ELDAR HELLIONS US$24.75 to US$25.00 Cdn$29.75 to $30.00
I need to go shopping .... now! I don't mind price increases in principle, they are a fact of life, but 25% on some items? There is nothing in today's economic climate that can justify that. Add in the fact that Hellions aren't getting jacked as much as wyches or Warriors, or Mandrakes anywhere near as much as Incubi, and you quickly see that it has no economic foundation other than "cuz we can".

| 5 dollars? That's slightly more than I thought but still. I think people are over-reacting slightly. A $5 price increase and I'm already hearing stories of people quitting Wh40k? Oh yeah, I'll admit it is a jerk move, but it's better than them going bankrupt and permanently closing (Albeit they are not even close to doing so).
Also, I'm personally excited to try some of the new Resin Incubi. The boxes only come with 3 different posses. The limbs aren't even interchangeable. I can't really work with metal, but resin is a completely different story. I know my Eldar friend is rejoicing because finally the Aspect Warriors wont be purely metal.

Actually if you pay attention you'll see that they generally dont raise the price as much on the lessor used units of any codex. But those units that everyone runs/needs end up being the ones that get jacked up

Yes, that was readily apparent from the beginning. I agree with Rangrok1k that threatening to quit over this is mostly a jerk move, but there are limits. If GW can pull this sort of thing off, more power to them, but I have two kids (one of whom also plays) and a few other considerations that naturally take priority, so I can't easily justify going along with 20-25% increases on my personal hobby each year. I bought a box of Wyches and one of Warriors this afternoon before the increase comes into effect, plus I managed a decent discount as a nice bonus. That's it for me for quite a while now, I have those sets and a stockpile of vehicle bitz that I have been accumulating for kitbashing. I would like to get 2-3 Venoms later in the year, and 1-2 Razorwings, but I'm also waiting to see the big bugz in the rumoured 2nd wave of 'Nids in the Fall, so I will have to be very, very selective with whatever I get.

It is kind of a dick move isn't it? I mean cost of living is supposed to be a what? 2-3% increase each year? 25% is a little absurd when you think about it. {{{NOTE}}} This post was made entirely possible by spell check. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to understand my Sailor Jerry speak. Ha! Rum for the Rum Gods!
