| So I've been playing 40k now for 2 weeks & decided I can win Ard Boyz haha... Although I am needing help finishing my list. I think I need more Dark Lances or something but don't know how to fit them in. I have some Scourges but it seems like a lot of kill points. I am also not confident in the Archon w/ Huskblade. As all I really need from it is the Grenade Launcher, I could drop it for a cheaper build (Agonizer, Shadowfield, PGL) or drop the Incubi altogether for more Blasterborn or Bloodbrides and take some Haemonculi to give the Wyches pain tokens. Let me know what you veterans think....
Archon - Huskblade, Ghostplate Armor, Shadowfield, Soul Trap, Combat Drugs, Phantasm Grenade Launcher 7 Incubi - Klaivex Raider - Flickerfield
3 Kabalite Trueborn - 3 Blasters Venom - 2 Splinter Cannons
3 Kabalite Trueborn - 3 Blasters Venom - 2 Splinter Cannons
Asdrubael Vect 7 Wyches - Hekatrix w/ Agonizer, Shardnet & Impaler, Haywire Grenades Raider - Flickerfield
7 Wyches - Hekatrix w/ Agonizer, Haywire Grenades Raider - Flickerfield
7 Wyches - Hekatrix w/ Agonizer, Haywire Grenades Raider - Flickerfield
5 Kabalite Warriors - Blaster Venom - 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Kabalite Warriors - Blaster Venom - 2 Splinter Cannons
5 Kabalite Warriors - Blaster Venom - 2 Splinter Cannons
Ravager - Flickerfields
Ravager - Flickerfields
Ravager - Flickerfields
That leaves me with 272 points left. What can I do?

| With no fast attack, maybe look at reavers with heat lances/blasters?
3x3 with a heat lance each is 234 points... or go with 1 unit of 9 and spend the extra on champ with agoniser...
Or drop a WWP in the list on the archon and add beasts?

| Maybe you could loose Vect. Then you'd have 512 spare points. That are 2x6 Reavers with Heatlances + 5 Scourges with Haywire Blasters and a 4th Trueborn with Blaster for both units. (496pts) | |

| He does not want to lose Vect, especially at Ard Boyz. With the amount of parking lot spam that he will see, going first is the only chance to win for DE. | |

| Flickerfields are better for ravs then NS.
Personally I would lose the archon and incubi for another TB unit and the Baron. (to go with the beasts)

| Well I can't get my hands on a Jetfighter, and after looking at the 3rd Scenario & a debate Thor had with another member about running the Baron with Beastmasters, this is my final list... The Baron will be my General haha while Vect goes head-hunting theirs. Any last suggestions or strategies would be appreciated! I started a topic in the tactics forum on just this topic! I wanted to go more in depth with it & see a few different viewpoints as I find you can give your Ravagers better cover saves & have the NS as a bonus! However, I am always open to other ideas. | |

| Glad to see a discussion I had helped spark some ideas in someone. I already actually weighed in on the NS vs. FF question in that thread. My basic standpoint is that all tournaments totally end up skimping on cover on at least 2-3 tables - and then make DE play against IG on those tables. It's in the rules somewhere As for your list, overall I like it - though I'm not sure about the big Wych squad. With Vect there I don't think they need to be big to handle what they assault, and would tend to want the non-Vect squads to have the extra muscle. Other than that I think it looks pretty sharp - no issues. | |

| Is it considered outside the norm to give them both NS & FF? (There is a scenario in AB where one of the bonuses are to destroy all your opponent's Heavy Support. I'm not too worried about losing all my HQs and Fast Attack squads in the other one.) In theory if I dropped 2 Wyches & the Shardnet then I could do it, and still have bout 6 points left over to give something Grisly Trophies or Vect's Raider TGL. Honestly the Shardnet probably won't do much to save Vect, I just had some points left over when I made the first list. Seemed like a nice bonus. The best thing I could do probably would be to assault two units with that squad, hence the extra numbers. I don't want to get caught out in the open for a round of shooting! But at some point I will probably split Vect off to go wreck face while the remaining Wyches go for an objective or something. The Baron will probably be doing this as well just to go pop vehicles or something if the Beastmasters get an opportunity to assault something that doesn't require grenades. Alternatively I could run Vect in a 7 deep squad & make the other two 8 deep. | |

| I usually only run one ravager, it's a coven wwp list with the talos and cronos engines filling the other slots, but I generally go flickerfield first, and quite often add the nightshield as well. | |

| I run my wychs with just nades and an agoinser. and they do fine. drop a couple girls from the big squad and shardnet and get both on the ravs sounds like a good plan. | |

| Thank you everybody I finalized my list & hopefully will get to playtest it as it now is this week.... I also found out what to do with the last 5 points, put retrofire jets onto one of my warrior squads. Why?
40K Ard Boyz Preliminary Scenario 1: Git dat dirty git! Mission: Score as many kill points as you can and try to kill the traitor
The traitor is worth 5 kill points.
Night Fight (Turn 1 only)
Massacre: If a player has 10 more kill points than his opponent.
Battle point modifiers: +3 If you get the traitor you are controlling into your opponents deployment zone.
Anyone see where I'm going with this? I think DE got this one sewn up haha.... Scenario 2 is just straight objective grabbing, not sure what I'll do with that yet.... Any suggestions? Scenario 3 I have some advantages....
This scenario uses victory points. See page 300 of the rulebook for victory points rules. Each player must nominate a single HQ choice to be your army general. This choice is worth double victory points for this mission.
I'll use the Baron as my General, he has a Shadowfield & is rolling around in a giant unit of beasts, with stealth. Hopefully they will draw a lot of fire & my skimmers will have a field day. I can still reserve my Scourges & bring them on late game in case the Beasts get wiped out. We really have an advantage on this one, as with many cheap targets they will have to focus their firepower to bring down our units but for little return while we can focus on their General's unit or their expensive units & gain a lot for it.
