| Hello all, I am thinking about jumping into DE, I love the models and the conversion possiblities. I also like the idea of space elf raiders, or corsairs. I kinda want to represent this with the warrior models as much as possible. Is a warrior army viable? Any advise is appreciated. | |

| Sure an all warrior army is viable. Though you will still want some Incubi included. You will want to focus more on shooting than assault with your troops. Your Archon and Incubi will be your primary assault units. True-Born could also be built for an assault role if needed, but they are much better in the shooting role. Plan on lots of Raiders and Ravagers for AT, and Venoms and your infantry for AI. | |

| DE Warriors have a duel kit idea in mind. They can be Trueborn/Kabalite warrior.
Trueborn are the weapon specialist if you will of shooting. Trueborn can take more heavy duty weapons then a squad of warriors. For example a Trueborn squad of 3 can arm themselves with 2 Dark Lances/Splinter Cannons. Where you have to have a squad of minimum 10 Kabalites to run 1 of those options.

| cool! sounds great, I should have said, I don't mind the incubi or including other units types. Just mainly warriors. What else would be good? Heavy choices for instance? or Fast attack? Thanks for the quick replies

| Heavy Support to go with a warrior theme: Ravagers or Razorwing/Voidraven Bombers.
Fast attack warrior theme: ummm, Scourges for theme. But Reavers are boss

| Warriors are the backbone of Dark Eldar army. It is very doable to go all Kabalite murderboats on the opponent, as they have good shooting and solid heavy weapon choices. You'll want your Ravagers and Trueborn with blasters, of course, but otherwise it's a pretty solid themed army. | |

| Yeah, if you dig warriors, you're already on a good track for army building. Honestly you could build a fairly decent army with just warrior models.
1 Archon 6 Troops of warriors, can never have too many troops, and ours are good. 3 Elites of trueborn 3 Ravagers, as warriors are the models that man the guns.
You honestly don't need anything else. If you outfit those units the right way, they can handle anything.

| I've only played a couple games as Dark Eldar, but I play an all warrior/trueborn army, and have been pretty happy with the results. I even modded a warrior to be Duke Sliscus. | |

| Check out Mushkilla's Battle reports, he doesn't use Wych troops, purely Warrior. | |

| Depends on the army you are fighting. Buy an extra box, so you have extra models to make all the various options. As you play games, you will develop your own style. And, as editions change, you will be more flexible when tailoring your lists to the updated rules. | |

I so agree with you. My opponents shiver, when I start to get them out of their box. I always use warriors, because I don't like wyches. It's a personal thing. Doesn't really matter. But warriors are pretty much capable of destroying anything, that gets in their way. Hm, in their line of sight... Splintercannons are, in my opinion, the best AI weapon in the game. And monstrous creatures have to fear them even more. 6 shots, when stationary and 4 when moving, gives you much flexibility, when forced to change positions. If not, well, about 30 shots per game should raise your kill rate pretty quickly, even when you are allergic to good dice rolls.

| The only problem with Warriors is that they have no way of dealing with vehicles without a transport (Raider) or a Sybarite ugrade with Blast Pistol. Just make sure you have plenty of anti-tank, such as Ravagers, Radiers, or Trueborn with Blasters. | |

Don't forget Scourges!! I was only mentioning things that were warriors, warrior vehicles, or involved warrior models. I've also never played with Scourges, and completely forgot about them.

| Trueborn can buy haywire grenades as well, and regular warriors can take blasters once they hit the five man mark. Darklances at ten too but that's less desirable. I don't see warriors as necessarily having a rough time with vehicles, I think the hard part is deciding just how much dark light to take. | |

| I had never really noticed that Trueborn can take haywire grenades! I don't really see why would you, though, unless going for a kooky haywire/CCW Trueborn assault unit. I am having a real hard time to figure when such a setup would be any good. Catch your opponent completely unaware, perhaps? | |

| Oh literally only warriors. I thought you were just talking about where you could field them. I guess by leaving out your whole fast attack yea its pretty easy. and looks very similar to what I want to run. | |

Yeah I recently figured you can make them into a third version of 'nade-tank-killers alongside wyches and bloodbrides. Whats their advantage over them? ... A +5 armour instead of +6! ... but no ++4... So, yeah.

Sometimes I'll do it to make trueborn sort of a double threat. It's a cheap upgrade if you're looking for some odd place to spend points. Sometimes you will run into a heavy mechanized list, were dual splinter cannons just aren't that great. Oh, but for only six point now you have a serious anti-tank threat on the same unit. It's not something I do often, but the option is there if you're looking for more anti-tank or a place to spend points.

| Hm, when I remember the rules correctly, one grenade per unit can be thrown 8". Could be of use, sometimes. | |
