| I don't see a point of picking up a mini-rulebook for myself. The recent release of 7th ed, cut the unnecessary stuff out. Just my opinion of course. | |

The recent release of 7th ed, cut the unnecessary stuff out. Just my opinion of course. As I have no intention of paying £50 for a third of a trilogy of books I was hoping for a starter set that I would actually want to buy so that I could pick up the mini rulebook and some new models. But I have no interest in Space Wolves or Orks so I won't be buying the new box.

| I don't read BoLS, and I try not to read anything beyond the headlines on Natfka, but this popped up last week. Massive sodium-chloride alert accompanies it, naturlich. I also saw something recently that said the new combo boxes would be updated every 6 months or so, and this would be out barely 3-4 months after SW-Orks, so who knows? On top of that, having seen the recent Space Puppies-Orks combo set, with one new, unique figure per army and the rest bog standard - but much cheaper - existing units, I am not getting overly-excited about this anyway: http://natfka.blogspot.ca/2014/07/blood-angels-and-dark-eldar.html - Quote :
- "Natfka"}We have been talking in the past from rumored release schedules, that both Blood Angels and Dark Eldar are going to be next. Of course our rumors have it in the reverse, Dark Eldar later this year, followed by Blood Angels most likely at the beginning of next year. With the release schedule the way it has been though, that could easily be moved up to this fall, with some Fantasy (Brettonians) in between.
Here is the latest from Larry Vela on Bols, Please remember that these are rumors. I am not sure if these sources were throwing out some rumor reverb or if there is some knowledge here. They seem to have placed Blood Angels first.
via Larry Vela on Bols - Quote :
- Into the fall we will see the back to back pairing of Blood Angels and Dark Eldar, with a limited edition boxed set featuring both sandwiched in between.
This is to be a repeat of the same pattern GW has now tested out with Orks-SanctusReach-Stormclaw-SpaceWolves.
This large multi month pattern will take us into the holidays.
These rumors are rated Average - Low coming from both known and unknown sources.

| I, on the other hand, AM excited by this as BA and DE are my two armies. Problem is that GW now has to choose between the army most in need of a new book (BA by a country mile) or a second marine dex in a row. If they manage to go DE>Bretonnia>BA I'll be happy and sad as those are all the armies I play getting simultaneous updates, and my bank balance will go kaput. | |

Me too think that DE will be first. Two space marines codexes in a row - that`s too much for the universe. It can collapse.

Just going to leave this here. Apparently Dark Eldar are next in line after the Grey Knights, presumably the WFB End Times campaign thingy with Nagash will fall between GK and DE, so I'd anticipate early-mid September.

The source of this 'information' is not exactly the most reliable so I wouldn't necessarily take this too seriously.

| I can see us being last on that list, personally, or second to last above Inquisition. Perhaps it's just my pessimism going into overdrive, but it's only been four years and two editions since our last book, that's nowhere near long enough to leave us hanging | |

| Well I suppose there is the bonus of leaving us until last, or even forgetting us again for a decade. It ensures that we are suitably bitter and twisted enough to really stick the knife in and twist when the day does come again..... Consider it 'getting into character'.
I was sure there was a quote somewhere - penned by our kind - about hope and it's uses, but it seems to have escaped me.

| Necrons are definitely going to be last on that list I'd assume. The biggest reason I can see to do Dark Eldar over Blood Angels (who need it more) would be to avoid 3 consecutive Space Marine releases. Besides, if Dark Eldar don't need a huge overhaul then they're a very good candidate for a one to two week 'splash' release in between things. It looks like GW's trying to get everything updated for 40k, and then flip over and do the same thing for WFB.
Regardless of source, thought it was worth mentioning anyway. Besides, there's so few books left to re-do that there's a finite combination of orders...

| I believe Blood Angels, then Grey Knights, then Dark Eldar, then Necrons for codex releases. (Just my opinion) | |

Not to burst your bubble Alino but Grey Knights' are more or less 100% confirmed as the next codex.

I'm not sure GW will do 3 marine codexes on the trot. Mind you, I didn't think they'd do 2 but then Grey Knights hoved into view hot on the heels of the Space Wolves.

| Looks like rumors over at BoLS are pointing towards another shortened codex release aimed for Necrons ... If this is true maybe GW is planning a big release for us. | |

| We had a big release 3 years ago. All we need are more plastic models. | |

| Let's see... we need plastic incubi, grotesques, beasts, wracks, mandrakes and our three characters (archon, succubus, haemy). Can't see us keeping all the named characters. And we'll be getting a Void Raven. Possibly something else big too. That's not a huge number of kits.
To be completely frank, DE are a bigger release than BA. Both armies are in a position where the codices just need tweaking to account for relative point costs... examples being that Darklight needs to come down in points since it's not as effective, just about everything in the Blood Angels book is hugely overcosted compared to other marine armies. Difference is that BA have models for literally everything. Dark Eldar don't, and still have a decent number of mainstay units to be transferred to plastic. Blood Angels have a decent number of unique kits already (furioso and all variants, death company, sanguinary guard) and could get by with an updated codex, maybe a new unit or two if GW decides they want to produce one. Dark Eldar will require more work.

What this means for a Dark Eldar release, I don't know. From the Grey Knight release, I would expect the Dark Eldar releases to be quick and brief.

| It's kinda funny, if you go to Faeit's site and scroll down there are 2 topics posted almost back to back one is stating that Necrons' are in line after Grey Knights' and then the very next topic says that Dark Eldar are next in line.... If 40k was more renown, there would be betting in Vegas over this lol. | |
