| Everything looks very good over here. Love the way of how the wyches are coming out. Striking poses. Especially the one on the forefront in that last pic, he seems like blocking a sudden blow.
Well regarding playing with wyches, in my current Meta, most of us usually play with fluffy lists. We procure to use a very balanced gameplay in most of our matches, using good and not so good units alike. Well?... except for one player, who is very competitive. He reacted very negatively when the Tyranids codex came out. I just told him to calm down, that if he wanted to play with certain rules or some homemade buffs, we can work it out. But apparently he just tossed his army away. Pretty immature in my opinion, but with that attitude he made me understand that he was only there to win the games. Then Warhammer it’s not the right game for him.
I usually reject constant competitive gameplay, knowing that it takes all the fun right away. But it’s okay to try it every now and then. But remember always! The hobby should be seen as a whole in my opinion.
Sorry for the detour regarding this matter, I just want to say, that I have no doubt in using wyches every now and then. Don't care about the nerf.

Is that because you can get 4 heavy weapons now? I always enjoyed using them as Dakka-Dakka men or Anti-Tank.

| Excellent! The edge highlights on the armour etc. are very well executed in my opinion (i'm a fan of rather subtle highlights) and the scheme is generally appealing to the eye. The bony weapons are just a brilliant idea and give your Wyches a very visceral look in combination with the red armour. My 2 cents.
Edit: Do you already have plans for the bases? Just curious. And may i ask how your Kabal name came to be?

| Thank you I have so many ideas for bases that I can't pick one, but based on the name I want to go kind of desertish. I actually have very few based models (and I don't like those I've done!) because of this choice-paralysis. Suggestions extremely welcome. The House is a House because of how many oldschool models I have, makes sense to assume they've been around for a while! The Salted Earth part comes from the idea of completely destroying an enemy. Killing his soldiers, taking his civilians, burning the buildings and salting the earth so that nothing can grow. Some roman or something like that said something along those lines once I nearly went with a kind of Greyjoy theme from Game of Thrones, but it turned out I hated the Greyjoys. But their "we do not sow" ethos appealed to me as well. | |

| How about super salty earth? Maybe in combination with normal desert basing, like in the background of the picture. | |

| I think that basing idea would work really well with your force. The bleached bone colour would contrast nicely with your pink/red armour. Maybe a few army painter grass tufts as well and they will look fantastic. | |

| I think the grass tufts are a must to stop it looking exactly like an artex ceiling great idea though. Simple and (probably) effective! I have a few models on sandy bases atm, but it shouldn't be too much trouble to paint 'em this colour. ...what colour is that? Anyone recommend anything? | |

| Can I suggest occasionally adding a small kind of crystal on to a few bases as well, like an actual salt crystal looking thing.
Just for extra other worldly look?

| These guys are looking nice! Haven't really been involved on the forum for a while due to my DE taking a back seat this year, but I'm starting to catch up now and i'm liking this scheme. I definitely think that a pale base will enhance your models, the bone coloured parts of the weapons will fade slightly, but it'll make the red really stand out nicely. Keep up the good work! TBE | |

| Aaw sorry guys, I have the next five waiting to be coloured in right in front of me, but this is a hyper-busy time of year for me businesswise so they've taken a major back seat. I do expect to get to them next week sometime though, I need a break of some sort! I did mention I worked slowly and I started the log at a stupid time as well. Updates will follow though, I promise! | |

| I got to borrow the company camera for a couple of days, but I had no time to paint even the things I nearly had done! Anyway, without further ado, here is update one of a few. It's the first of a few "I just thought I'd show you this stuff" posts for this log. Here are a bunch of old models I'm at various stages of renovating (with paint, I'm no converter) The Cult of the Salted Wound are joined by some of the founding members! Very much WIP, they'll be at the same standard as the wyches earlier in this thread. The tripedal Talos Interminable Suffering with extraplanar legs. I'm working on a tentacley thing for his face-drill to go on the end of. It's basically finished, I'm so sick of painting this thing. The House's first ever Raider, Slaughterfang - I couldn't not use the rest of that bolt thrower, now could I? Still needs a lot of paintwork, but I dislike painting vehicles intensely. | |

| I do like to see a smattering of the old models among the new sculpts. I've just picked up some old-style Talos's for my own force. And I'm also a big fan of the bolt throwing Raider | |

| Time for part 2 and some character types I've done/worked on lately. This guy happened because I had a game planned for the day I got the new codex. Just in case "Archon on a jetbike" became a thing again, I built him out of spares. My favourite part is the antennae-looking handlebars to emphasise the insectile look of the old bikes. He'll get paint somewhere down the line. Test elf from the bolt thrower crew, playing with the red & bone scheme. Was considering blue skin at this point, and I may yet stick with it to differentiate vat grown/trueborn, as Simmons' (and other authors') androids. This assumes all my wyches are trueborn... Incubus scheme on an old model. The rest are darker with subtler highlights, so this is the Klaivex for now. I dislike the new incubi - those swords are horribly impractical and I can't make peace with it. Archon Basilisq: not much to say, I was proud of the soultrap. Draz just needs a convincing Obsidian for his blades. I'm mega nervous about starting them though. Tips? Succubus. One of four surivors from the Cult of the Howling Wild - she owes Basilisq a few millenia of fealty for resurrecting her and her bloodbrides. (What happened was I bought the Archon model when it came out, after years out of the hobby, and it rekindled my gaming fire! She'd previously been my Dracon leader in 3rd ed.) I was just messing about with the Glaive thing and seeing what'd happen if I tried to make a swirling firey look with wet paints. Didn't really work, but it looks unique at least | |

| Also in full size these photos are GIGANTIC so if you'd like to see the Archon's four eyes, the subtle play of poisonous sheen on the Elf's sword or the one hundred million mistakes I've made, check it out. | |

| Here's my newest Archon, Anbarisz. He likes to wwp with heatlance scourges and pop open the transports in my group to eat the characters inside and trap their souls. Total monster when his scythe is an agoniser. Bits from kabalites, wyches, cold one knights and flagellants. Base is from scibor miniatures SF elves range. Hope you like him! | |

I can only add to what Khordajj sad! Wonderful conversion! I love the helmet and the scythe, because I love the artwork on the first page of the codex and would love to have such a helmet. But the thing I like best is that the model still fits the design of The DE. Looking forward to seeing some paint on it!

| Really liking that conversion. Love the use of alternative bits, especially the hour glass and scythe. Would love to see a few more pics at different angles though. Quite hard to see how the helmet works with the horns SC | |

Your House name isn't based off this, is it? If so that's pretty awesome. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salting_the_earth

| Yeah it absolutely is! The kabal of the bloodless star did it to us once, unsuccessfully. So now we do it to everyone we meet. My House's fluff is so great, I should commit it to text some time. | |
