| The Haemonculi's Challenge: Round 2
Read the requirements again, a small update!
Ok, time to start the second round of this year's challenge! The second round will feature four models. Rules for the comp can be found here: READ ME! Also please read the rest of this post carefully. To enter, simply post your user ID, forum name and one WIP picture! Any comments, questions or words of encouragement, post them here! I will try and answer and read them everyday. Contestants, PM me or ask for a thread here and I'll provide one for you, in the same manner as in the Archon's Challenge. After going through the feedback, what I've learned from the previous round and a lot of thinking we are finally up and going again! This is the last round of this years Haemonculi's Challenge. The winner of this round will win a prize. This years prize will be a set of gorgeous vehicle crater made by our generous Gobsmakked: They will be supplied unpainted. This time around I'd like to see more WIP and comments about your work. I will provide every contestant with his/her own thread. This will help us pick our winner from the top 3 contestants with the most votes. So feel free to post about your work, techniques, ideas, bitz and stuff. So, here is the challenge! Xenala SapaxWargear: One Ridiculous Ride Special Rules: Independent Character, Fleet, NV, PfP, Dodge(4+), Skilled Rider Background: The Blinding Ride kabal is on everyone's lips today. This small and relatively unknown kabal recently attracted attention in the Dark City. Their Archon, Xenala Sapax is a master in crafting jetbikes and similar rides. Xenala have been crafting and providing specialized and custom rides to many other Archons and leader for decades. Only recently have he/she amassed enough funds, power and reputation to create his/her own kabal. The kabal was specialized in fighting on bikes, skyboards, certain mounts and to some extent chariots like Venoms. One requirement to join the kabal was being capable in the arts of crafting jetbikes. While seldom raiding outside Commorragh, the kabal focus on racing and crafting their rides instead. In Low Commorragh, this means they get all the business concerning fast and customized rides, which have resulted increased power. This increase of power, both politically and in wealth have started to draw attention from fellow competitors and enemies. But it is their Archon's latest design that have put their name on everyone's lips... Requirements: - 4 models in total! - 1 Xenala Sapax* - 3 escorts on jetbikes! * - Xenala must have his/her own unique Ridiculous Ride.** *: They do not have to be reavers or wyches. They can wear any armour, not strictly wychsuits. So go crazy for this one! Example: Incubi on jetbike! Xenala must stand out though, since he/she is an Archon. **: As long as it is some sort of ride, anything goes! But remember, it has to give the feel of being ridiculous or exaggerating in any possible way! The escorts can use anything as a ride, but Xenala's must stand out. ALSO! Xenala don't need to be mounted! You can have Xenala on her own seperate base, dismounted. After some feedback and quick realization, I'm allowing Xenala to be a seperate model from the ride. I want to clarify on one thing: The ride can be anything. If you think a reaver chained to a chariot is a nice ride, then go for it (I got this from last santa raid, inspiration to this comp ^^). If you think a hovering house with balloons is suitable and ridiculous, go for it. My example: Xenala on chariot pulled by a reaver. Xenala is on her own base but she can be fitted on the chariot. When fielding this in real games, the chariot and reaver is my Venom 3 reaver escorts on normal DE jetbikes Hopefully this challenge will make you think twice before starting. You have to impress your fellow citizens but in the same time fulfill the requirements. Planning and ordering your bitz will take time! This round will end in about 8 weeks. Dead-line is: New deadline: 14th September new deadline!! So get started and have fun! _________________ ---The Haemonculi's Challenge--- Come and show off your conversion skills. | Wow, this one's going to be a challenge. I don't even know if I have that many spare pieces! I'll certainly be taking part, though. _________________ Welcome to Commorragh! | |

| Hmm, I'm going to have to agree with you Cavash.... definitely a project and a half, but a very nice prize, might have to see what I can dig up and or what I end up buying in the near future, and probably will have to hold off committing to taking part as yet.
Though re the rules is it legitimate to take my old style completed reavers and hack them up / use them as the base of my conversions? _________________ One does ones best.

| @PartidgeKing, yes it is allowed.
Good idea, using old model and bitz lying around.

| I don't particularly want a jetbike lord per-se (because unless a new codex makes me happy, it would just join my other Haems and Archon on bikes, collecting dust on a shelf). Would it be legit for me to make a custom Venom or something with some Reaver escorts? Or is that too much of a style change from 'big jetbike'? I am a troublemaker - I'm big on fielding stuff I convert _________________ The Title Troupe! - Nom fellow posters for custom titles. | |

| Good point Thor, I've updated the comp a little now. I agree that perhaps converting a HQ on bike when our dex don't have such thing, people might feel less motivated converting one. So I've upped the specs to include Venoms. But you could have fielded the Xenala as a reaver arena champion Tips for people due to the small change, magnetizing Xenala and the ride would be real cool! _________________ ---The Haemonculi's Challenge--- Come and show off your conversion skills. | Bah! I have been looking forward to a conversion comp involving some kind of reaver queen for quite a while, but I am going on extended vacation early August and simply won't have the time, or funds, to do this justice. Sigh, now I will just have to wait for the design-your-own-Raven-fighter-replacement comp _________________ Mod Squad Forum rules, please read ................. or else we release the Khymerae! The Serpents' Breath - the Dark Eldar corsair scourge Hive Fleet Void Riven & WIP thread | |

| ......I was under the impression she just had to have 'One Ridiculous Ride' which must be a ride of some kind and be exaggerated, not that she had to have a jet bike.... I was looking at making a Raven thing or a venom or something something....assuming I finish my Grotesques... _________________ One does ones best.

| ALternatively, for simplicity, a Hellion Skyboard, at which point she can stand in as the Baron......
That's my plan anyway....... _________________ Kabal of the Eternal Night | Modelling Blog | The Squidmaster Distractathon | Notes on being an RPG Gamesmaster |

Sigh, now I will just have to wait for the design-your-own-Raven-fighter-replacement comp I've thought about the reaver queen but I'm not sure about if it's ok to use that one, since Shadows wrote it and etc... I think I've messaged him about it earlier but never got any replies. So, people, not necessary to be riding a jetbike, but you can always do that as well. Skyboards are good too. I'll be setting up some seperate thread for soon, squid definitely needs one! _________________ ---The Haemonculi's Challenge--- Come and show off your conversion skills. Win fame and prizes!

| Just had an idea, I personally don't have the bits to do it but it would be really cool to see.
what if you took the wings from the scourges and either used that for Xenala or for her 3 escorts on the bikes? I'm not sure if it would look cool or off balanced having wings on a jetbike. You could also use the scourge heads for her body guards or the now wing stripped scourges as true born. Best of luck! can't wait to see what y'all come up with. _________________ Want to chat in real time with your fellow archons? Join our Discord channel -> https://discord.gg/5yhRP7v

| Apologies I don't think I ever came out and said that I wasn't taking part this time around having mentioned thinking of something. Sadly I have too many other things on my plate at the moment, and my table is covered in half built Grotesques.... They're closer to being fully built than previously at least but yes. Sadly the Unkindness which is what I had planned if I was to take part will have to wait for another time.
Side note, make round 3 grotesques and I will provide between 3 and 6 different varieties depending on where you draw the line :p _________________ One does ones best.
