Substitute Grotesques

Cheers guys! I've had mixed reviews - mostly about the size. I've considered using them as talos/cronos but I like my models to be WYSIWYG and it would mean adding a the talos tail weapon somewhere.

This guy is also being painted up at the moment (with another to follow soon...):

You're putting so much work into them, why not building round bases?

I had to order the round bases - so I built them on square and transferred them before painting. They're on rounds now

Should be no issue if you mount them on wrists or shoulders.

True, and I have the parts. Just not sure it's the aesthetic I'm going for.

True, and I have the parts.  Just not sure it's the aesthetic I'm going for.

Yeah, finding a decent way to mount the tail weapon was the hard part of my Stormfiend conversions and, to be honest, I'm not happy with any of the solutions I came up with.

Option 1 - Just shove the whole tail on!


Option 2 - Arm mounted


Option 3 - Arm mounted variant

I like the variations if i'm honest. No 2 are the same. I love my floating scorpion-esque talos though - it takes me back to my 40k 3Ed days!

Maybe a chest gun? Or shoulder mount? Orrrr a gaping maw weapon

I've got 3 more to convert at some point (giving me enough for 2 units of 3, or a Corpsethief Claw and a Dark Artisan) so will experiment some more. Thank you for the comments though!
