A little more info on Death from the Skies

The new supplement sounds cool. I'm looking forward to the new rules for fliers. It does seem a bit more cumbersome, but I'm cautiously optimistic. The shift in GW over the past six-twelve months has been good I think.

I want to hold out hope that they will finally do something good for Dark Eldar but the pessimist in me keeps say that I'm just going to find more disappointment.

My guess is the Razorwing will be an attack craft - the fact it has so many missiles and a secondary weapon that can't hurt vehicles seems to me to suggest that's its actual role, especially since they describe attack flyers as being able to perform in both the anti-air and ground attack role.

Is this boom going to be a mandatory add on to the rules, or an optional way to play the game like apocalypse?

Well. With GW everything is optional... I don't mean that divisively, but in this case it is true. For tournaments, you'll have to check ahead of time. For casual play at a clubhouse, I imagine it would be up for general discussion.
