I am going to assume that with this rumor, it means that daemons are a February pre-order with a March release as many rumors have been claiming.

This rumor has me all excited to see what is done with aerial battle and the new flyers. I want to give the source a huge thanks. He/she really made my day/week/month.

Next White Dwarf will feature aerial battle using campaign of fire rules and NEW flyers

Tau receive a flyer and data sheet for it. Fast attack choice. Armor 11 all around. Non tau pilot. Looks like a manta ray flying backwards. Bs 4 super sonic. S6 ap4 missiles. Off center gun heavy 6 str 5 ap 4 twin linked or single small blast Str 8 ap 2.

Eldar flyer and data sheet for it. Very similar stats to dark eldar flyer has missile lock, has distortion missiles.smaller fighter looks like elongated vyper.

The harpy for tyranids. Nothing to note. Not a dual kit.
The final surprise. A fourth flyer. The long awaited dark eldar bomber.

WOOHOO!

I hope that they managed to make the bomber as cool as the Jetfighter. It was a wonderful thing to paint... like Airfix, but Dark Eldar!

Let's hope it looks awesome! I also hope the same for the Eldar flyer, they really need a sleek, non-FW flyer too.

I am so ready for an official VoidRaven.. I'll build 2 of them!

Although I'm VERY happy about the release of the Voidraven, I become more and more sad with every cool new flyer that comes out. Ours seem so...unfinished.

Flyers apparently only in March?

Finally the Voidraven appaers to be on the horizon. Annoyingly it ends up comign after I've started working on my thesis so I'll only have the weekend to paint. I'll be getting 1 or 2, depending on how good the Eldar flyer will be. Distortion missiles sound like they migth do somethign interesting, but I'm quessing they're blast weapons (missile lock lets you reroll scatter), so useless against other flyers (which I think is the primary reason to take flyers over Ravagers). Its usefulness depends on the av, additional armaments and what exactly the missiles do (if they're awesome enough, I'd consider it even if it can't hurt other flyers). The Tau one seems pretty weak, really. s6 can't penetrate av12 flyers, and only penetrate av11 on 6+ (and those make up the most common flyers), s5 is even worse. s8 is nice, but a single small blast is not that impressive (I'd rather stick with railguns). Voidraven isn't bad, really. It's no Vendetta, but it is a medium armoured flyer with a permanent 5++ (never need to jink) that is effective against both other flyers and heavy vehicles and can be equipped with missiles for a dual role (giving it the maximum amount of missiles make it way too expensive, tho).

Logic says the release date will be 9th February or 2nd March.

Also with how the flyers have been priced lately and how big it should be, I think we'd be looking at the £45 mark.

I will be stark-raving broke as a joke though if I they make flyers for my Tau, Dark Eldar, and Eldar. Broke, but pretty happy

They say march now... Hope it looks fantastic. I dont really like flyers, and I dont like ours as I think they suck.
But if the model looks awsome I am getting one or two...

Our current flyer represents a threat your opponent most of the times have to build a list around since it does fly. Either they have to allocate a whole round of shooting to get it down, or throw in a quad gun or another flyer/flakk to handle it, specifically using points on that.

I field one at 1400+ pts because I actually like the looks of it. I build mine as a anti inf with 2 disentigrator cannons, 4 default missiles and a splintercannon. Cheap and gives you 6 shots (so about 4 hits) they can't take invul saves against.

Hoping the new flyer will be great!

Ok, at the risk of sounding dumb, why can't you take invuls against those shots?

Our flyers are no threat to opponents in the tournament scene. With loads of skyfire, intercepters, flakk or simply just better flyers than ours they really don't care...

Having said that, i' ll take 2 please!

I was wondering that too. The default missiles are S6, AP5 with no special rules that would affect saving throws.

Maybe he means cover save since its harder to hide from a flyer, just had to take a guess:)

The first pics from the February WD are breaking loose and they only contain Warriors of Chaos so far.

Classic case of "Pic or it didn't happen."

I'm predicting March but not holding out any hope. Surely bringing out Warriors of Chaos will mean Flyers are shelved for another month: it'd be silly to release two products that compete for the limelight of The Marketing Catelogue / WD surely...

Seems WoC will be next munch big thing. I do think the flyers will show up relatively soon, as it would make sen for GW to give the armies still missing theirs some more expensive toys to buy (and throw our other flyer in while they're at it). Flyers are the new big thing in 6th after all, and would undoubtably sell.

Further confirmation that we will not in fact see our beloved Voidraven in februari, but at best in march?

Call me pessimistic, but I have a gut feeling we won't even see our missing flyer in march. I don't know why.

Anything is possible, after all, this "flyer wave"-thing has been kicking around for well over a year now. The WD preview is not a good guideline, however, they aren't going to give away the secret surprise for each month in their preview. We have all seen the WoC pics from next month's WD, but they aren't mentioned either.

I am still hopeful for a late-February reveal and early-March release. But I am not allowing myself to get too excited by it all.
