Apparently....we might NOT be next

I was just on the 40K facebook site looking at the comments under the "Eddie Agent of Change..." article. Within the comments someone mentions Dark Eldar being next out...the individual writing under Warhammer 40,000 responded "We just said which next three are up next...not which will be released first".


Which flies in the face of the LVO article that specified order...and for all the discussion about the order on the FB site, I'm pretty pissed they are just now saying "we never said which is neeeeeext!"

But anywho, sorry for potentially crushing spirits...thought it would be worth hearing now versus next week when they bust out 'leaks' for someone other than DE....

I can't say that I'm surprised.

To be fair, the Facebook page has been saying that since the very first article announcing the Xenos releases. They haven't suddenly started saying it so let's keep hoping the rumours are true and we're next. We're likely to know by the end of this weekend, so fingers crossed my fellow Commorites.

I still think Necrons are the next 40k release. The community article that released the information focussed around the crons after talking about the AoS releases that look truly next.

I would not be surprised if it's Necrons, Tau, and then us.

It's wrong about the AoS releases as the newest white dwarf talks about the sisters of slaughter and the teaser trailer and such has already been released.

So, really the question is: Who is correct, the presenter at LVO, or whoever wrote whatever party-line the FB admins are told to give when asked about upcoming codices?

Anyone got a video of the presentation at LVO? The community site is what I've been following. I think BoLS or spikeybits released crap info around the same time and tried to make it sound like a leak.


I don't think the order of the releases was ever stated. GW just gave us brief overview of what we could expect in the next couple months.

Community site never specified the order, it's just these rumors from LVO that Dark Eldar were first, but it could just as easily be Tau. Pure guess, but it will be either Tau and Necrons first, then there's teh dual release of crons and the new ad mech knight.

In the BOLS article that started the other thread, there is a timeline that says "first Drukhari"
Was skeptic then already because in the picture with the three codices ours is lowest and on the right side, even though it is at the front.
Hopefully i was wrong.

I'm not taking BoLS info over the community site. Not a fan of that site at all.

Wasn't there, but the only person that said the Drukhari codex was next was one line from the BoLS article. Nobody there that I talked to remembers them saying Drukhari were first.

in the bols article it said they were first, but the warhammer community article on the LVO does not specify. It puts drukhari first when it names the next codexes, but does not say which one is first.

Sad though. I have been checking their website every day for two weeks now waiting a drukhari preview

While we may not be next, the Facebook page must say things to the effect of we can either confirm nor deny as that is their prerogative.
That said, and with a day until we know. It really is just a single source saying we are next.

Might I just add though, the splinter mind haven't released a podcast and it is over a month, and we do know they can't release a review of the Dex until preview day, so... there is some evidence to suggest we could be next!

We release once a month.....I'm just late finishing the editing

I can honestly say our next episode is definitely not about the codex.

Anyway, looking forward to a codex breakdown from the splintermind podcast.

This is an aside but why is GW so mysterious with their launch cycle? No other game developer that I can think of does this. Video game companies tell you about their coming products every single day, with release dates given sometimes years in advance. They're always updating people on their products' development, the features, what kind of stuff you'll be able to do in them, etc. You'd think that with a game people have so much invested in, GW would be more willing to give information. Even Overwatch tells us what's coming and then posts the changes to the beta servers weeks or months before release. Why not do this with 40k?

My issue isn't so much that BoLS and SpikeyBits covered what was presumably said in terms of order...my issue is that, as someone who is on the 40K facebook site all the time, this was said a multitude of times (that Dark Eldar were next) and not until today do I see a 40K source say something? That's bush-league and obnoxious.

Generally, these 3rd party groups from time-to-time get inside information; as such, I'd hope the source of truth would at the MINIMUM state that something is a flat-out lie.

that fb comment from the warhammer community team has to be BS. I mean, if the splintermind have a codex and have been playing with it, it must be coming out incredibly soon. Otherwise we would have heard other parties saying they have the necron or the tau codex and have been playing with it.

I saw that the next 3 codexes were announced at LVO and that at the same time, it was announced that Dark Eldar were first. If the first bit was correct, don't know why I would doubt the second bit.

Ok, im out of this guessing game.  Not even going to guess. I haven't played a game in over a month now and so when it drops it drops. Until then bugger it.

As an aside, I have a release of my math hammer excel sheet that now shows probabilities of each different number of wounds, as if you were rolling dice! Thousands of times. Almost. And it has graphs!
Still some bugs to iron out, but I'm thinking it will coincide nicely with our codex release!

Edit: I'm sure evil space elves is super duper excited about that...

I know two Dark Eldar players who were there. They certainly didn't think there was any ambiguity in the announcement there- they didn't go together, but both said they were bowled over by the announcement that we are next, not like they talked each other into it or anything!
