Also no Vect for us. And it seems instead of actual factions we're just getting kabal/cult/coven.

So far, all I've seen in other reports from the event is that the codex will have rules for Cults, Covens, and Kabals, and that we're still not getting Vect back.

Any rumors on our other characters? The Duke? Baron?
I really doubt we'll be getting anything new though.

If we're next, but the new models they're showing are a Cryptek and some kind of Knight thing, my guess is that we're probably not getting any new models.

I'd be thrilled to be proven wrong, mind you.

I'd like for those new snake-aelves to be useful in Sslyth conversions, but I can't tell if I think they will be yet.

So, I'm guessing we'll see a faction focus article on what, Sunday? Monday? Hopefully they'll reveal something noteworthy.

Here's hoping that the reason Vect isn't in it is because the old grognard has been deposed...

Also, and more importantly, let's hope that this codex has been better thought out than the horrible mess that was the 7ed codex. Since that formed the basis of the Index, and there doesn't seem to have been all that long between the two, I'm filled in equal part with hope and dread

So what do you all think the chances are that we're a hold over codex a la Ad Mech or Grey Knights?
How do you think they'll deal with our HQ's?

Gotta say, this is quite the shock. I was just thinking today I was going to step back from 40k for a bit since everything was getting pretty stale. Awesome surprise!

Also those snake women sure look like new grotesque to me.

Or marvelous Dark eldar conversions for Wraithguard/lord/seer but I already have a pretty healthy contingent of the regular ones.

I'm pretty pumped to turn the new character model into a succubus. Looks perfect when combined with a unit of wych elves to make a succubus and bloodbrides.

Those half snake ladies seem like easy sslyth models.

Sadly for me I already own 6 sslyth lol.
Hard to tell but it may be too big for a succubus (I hope not) and lastly I wonder if I could use the winged ones as hellion.

Fingers crossed if we are seperated into coven, kabal and cult, that we can mix and match without any real penalties

I am going to wait until I see the fan reaction before buying it. Perfectly happy to wait until 9th edition rolls around if necessary.

I know we can't expect too much when it comes to releases, but I was really hoping for plastic grots. Out of the three codexes, it feels like grots are one of the models that need to be updated the most. I hoped for but didn't expect Vect and his Dais. Pumped for conversion opportunities though, got eyes on those fancy wings.

Well, that's a good news day and no mistake! Any idea when we might learn the release order and dates for the books? 1k sons is out next weekend and then it's onto the 3 xenos books, so won't be long before the first one drops.
