There's a quote from Vect himself (I don't remember where, maybe in Phoenix Rising) that Lelith's departure doesn't bug him as long as he can take an eye on her while she pledge Yvraine.
Sounds more like using her as an unwary spy or something.

Vect wasn't bothered about Lelith leaving because she'd been looking a bit ugly of late, and he had early warning that she was staying D1.

That's a good box, for sure.

Preview for the preorders is online. The combat patrol box is a Kabal box, looks like better start than the 8th edition start collecting box.
Something that surprised me is the card deck, just stratagems mentioned. Nothing about cards for power of pain, the back of the cards in the photo look also identical, while Necrons had three types of cards in it, stratagems, C'tan Powers and Command Protocols, which was also seen on the preview picture. I would have thought that they would fill the deck with anything they could think of as making sense as cards.

I'm gonna be a bit nitpicky about the dice, but it's annoying that GW have switched the DE faction symbol to that of The Kabal of the Black Heart.

More Kabalites that was to be expected, but the ravager and Incubi? That's a deal. If you're crafty you can get two ravagers out of it.

And if you're looking for a challenge you still have the Archon left.

We have 33 Stratagems todayincluding CP reroll so that's 32 .
41 strats including the 7 in the core book, that's 34. We get 2 1 stratagems more than 8th edition.

Well, if the new stratagems are better than the old ones, then that would be ideal. More strats isn't necessarily better - it's just more stuff to keep track of.

I'm still expecting a lackluster sidegrade of some sorts, but Im happy there is a decent Combat Patrol for now. I have reached the final step of Grief, Acceptance.

I've grown to like the Lelith revamp, but I'll change out that grimace, it does not suit my interpretation of her character. Begrudgingly I eat the waste of that box's Dark Eldar duplicates for her model alone. At least I'll pretty easily sell the sisters forward around my lgs. So this codex cycle least it's not a total loss for me.

The bigger question is, are Drukhari stratagems in the book of Rust and if yes are they included in the deck?

Mediocre dex and no new minis? I think its time to switch faction.

Also worth noting that the space marine novel is about the Carcharodons showing up in Commorragh to claim some kind of relic. I am totally down for brutal shark marines causing mayhem in The Dark City.

Combat Patrol box looks reasonable.

Pity about the army.

Sorry, were you seriously expecting GW to actually put effort into writing a DE codex?

Effort is for important factions - not NPCs.

Necrons had 27 strats in 8th, 40 in 9th
Marines had 34 strats in 8th 2ed,  34 9th + ~17 in supplements

maybe well get 20 Cult of strife exclusice strats
