I concur, that is a really great feature on your army on the GW site and deservedly so. I was hoping that you would add it to their Flickr pool, because I was certain that if you did, at least something would get featured. Congrats mate!

| Congratulations!
But I read here or on your blog that you use another brand of spray than GW's, but in the feature it says Chaos Black.
Is this true or just a part of GW's plan for world domination?

| Sorrowshard, the newest photos look awesome. I don't suppose you have a tutorial on how you did the helmets, do you? I really like the effect you created on them! Would be great to hear how you went about doing the blood on the bases or where you got the skeleton bits. Congrats on the completion of the army! | |

| Congrats on getting on the GW site.
As I peruse the rant on your rant, LOL, thats funny, my thoughts on the ToS.
I can't begin to tell you how many times my armies have been overlooked, or even my entries in painting contests. it used to really bug me a lot when I knew I had the best painted figure hands down.
But the real mental breakthrough for me was when I question a judge at a painting contest about my entry and why I did'nt get top place.
His response was " I really liked the custom decal the other guys used, so I vote him best overall..."
So there ya go, sometimes it really doesn't matter how good your army is, if the judge is an idiot, you still lose.
Nowadays, I am comforted by knowing if I did my best and that is enough.
Still, you have one of the most impressive armies out there and I don't have to judge painting classes to see that!

I have a visceral urge to punch this dude. Thanks for the sentiment. My point though was that it helps if you understand that not every judge is qualified to determine the color of an orange. I can sleep easy knowing that and my stress level at painting contests is soo much better no matter how it turns out.

| Dammit, man, your army is so shiny and beautiful. Really makes me realize how much I have ahead of me.
And damn it, the Hekatrix with the facemask? I'm stealing that idea for my next batch of wyches, just so you know. I'll mention you if I ever post pictures.

| Wow! this is just my second post on the forum. I think this is the coolest DE army I have seen painted so far. Just F#*&$*g amazing. I really like the blue fade in the helmets, then the pool of blood everyone is running through. | |

| Can i just say - I LOVE that baron conversion.
Its bar none - the most accurate version i have seen and the paint job is fantastic.
If i may - its only the basing on your force that lets it down for me - its not bad at all but for my taste i would prefer something else.
Like i say - the techniques are brilliant (i wish i could match them!) but the finish on the bases is not for me.

| Lol, well generally people have loved the bases, guess its a taste thing.
Personally I am indifferent, I wanted to try something different and it alliws me to put the red underglow effect on the army,
Was largely an aesthetic choice to get the look I wanted

| Sorry for Threadomancing, but well, this thread needs to see the light of day again anyway. Sorrowshard, I've been wondering how much of the glossy sheen on those pilot/Reaver/Trueborn helmets you have painted and how much of it is a true reflection of real light? I do understand that the teal lines on the bottom of the visor are painted on, but the white circles/ovals? I thought it was a real reflection, but to be honest... how can I be sure after all you've presented here? You don't happen to have a quick step-by-step tutorial on how you do those nice helmets? Superprettyspikeyplease? | |
