Eldar Rumours

Does anyone know what kind of date we should expect?

I've heard Q3 at the earliest.

Just a quick observation to add to this; I visited warhammer world on Sunday afternoon and noticed that most of the DE, 2/3 of the Eldar (judging by the dust), and nids were all removed for photography from the miniatures hall.

White Dwarf is prepared several months in advance so it wouldn't surprise me if those models were being used for a WD battle report to coincide with the release of the new codex.

This far out 'rumours' are complete bobbins. H&H over at Warseer might predict a model or two these days, but that's it.

It's Hastings on Warseer whose release schedule seems most accurate. Many moons ago he predicted:

Dark Angels
Chaos Daemons/Daemons of Chaos
Tau
High Elves
Eldar
Lizard Men

So far, spot on.

To be honest, Hastings and Harry can be taken as pretty much gospel. It's the others who live off one big rumour and/or throw mud at a wall.

I can predict the next Dark Eldar codex will have 3 new plastic kits, a plastic character, 2 finecast characters and 3 finecast boxes.

Hastings reckons FC's days are numbered, I hope he's right. Praise be to Khaine.

Not rigid enough to cast fragile bits like blades and spikes, yet so brittle that it snaps right off at the lightest pressure?

To be fair, though, it seals absolutely shut when glued with super glue and is amazing for conversions (at least the chunkier bits) because it is so 'cuttable'.

I suppose price is a bit heavy, I find it easier to assemble than metal though.

20,50€ for the new single characters. GW must have the same chemist as Jimi Hendrix.

At Warhammer World this weekend, the entire Dark Eldar Black Heart army and the studio Biel-tan (minus Wraithguard, hint hint) were all missing for photography purposes.

Well, we saw an early version of the jetbike some time ago, so that isn't a surprise.

And here's the old image, for those who haven't seen it.

Personally, I'd be surprised if they redid the jetbike purely on their new release system due to the Chapterhouse shenanigans as they seem to leave anything plastic and cover everything new.

I guess we can assume the bikes have been done for quite a long time though.

ah man, that's cheesy. this is nothing more than a copy of the high elf arch mage body or the newest farseer models we got, and the farseer head with the farseer fins on the side of the helm, but they swapped the fins around from the side to the back and changed the style of the fin just slightly.


note the (egyptian?) bearded chin in both pics, and the helmet fin being swapped around.

However, I'm pleased to see a new model for Eldar regardless, at least it's not a redo of Bug-Eyed boy, the most hated Eldar Farseer model in existance.

Thats plastic! Thats it all it gonna need to play with pose.

A great base for so many creative conversions, especially when the new plastic kits come out.

Love it. Then again, the old bugeye is one of my favorites from back in the day. Had my original one stolen back in 94'

yep, and i'll be on that band wagon myself. especially since i'm getting tired of using Guardians and Dire Avengers as Corsiars, and Yrial as my Corsair Prince. Allthough technically speaking, with Yrial..........

i already did one seer conversion a while back using the arch mage body and staff, a fire dragon head, an old dark eldar needler pistol arm, and a spirit stone trimmed off of a high elf sword arm. the spirit stone went into the middle of the fire dragons forehead. actually looks really nice, and comes together pretty good as well. just needed a bit of filler in the neck join.

@Evil, if i ever come across a bug eye boy in the stuff i constantly get, i'll make sure to send him to you for free, just to get rid of him. i hate that model, he doesn't match any other seer/warlock i have.

Allready have 3 farseers, so probably not my first purchase. Am very exited about the eldar update though. The craftworlders were my first, and still biggest, army.

Am looking most forward to some new shining spears and some other aspects. (Warpspiders I'm looking at you)

I think the new farseer model looks fine. And being in plastic its not that hard to modify him to your taste
