| No, but they can fire if disembark from a Wave Serpent. They also can fire after they walk from LOS block. | |

| Of the Waveserpents, they may still be useless for assualt units, but they'd be very good for carrying a unit of D-scythe Wraithguard into the enemy's face. D-sythes will absolutely murder anything at close range (being ap2 flames that instakill/autopenetrate on rolls of 6), but the problem is getting the rather slow Wraithguard there. With the Serpent you can just turboboost right in the middle of the enemy deployment zone and probably survive the next turn of shooting with a 4+ coversave (3+ with holofield) and ability to turn penetrating hist into glances (so they must remove all hullpoints to have any effect on you). Next turn the WG disembark and fry things with their uberflamers. And even if the Serpent blew up, they're t6 so they don't care that much and it probably took a significant chunk of enemy firepower to blow it up. | |

| Think Nomic hit on their strongest use there. That, and they are fair sized models, great for hiding venoms behind! | |

| Wow runes of battle are awesome the signature spell gives shrouded, or removes stealth and shrouded from a target. Warlocks come with runes of battle. 3+ jink save guardians anyone? 2+ jink save when turbo-boositng? No t to mention they are BS4 WS5 I5 now and got a price reduction! That's going to be fun. Hell shrouded makes guardian, support platforms and wraith guard really hard to get rid of. Of course the warlock is LD8 so he can fail his psychic test. But its interesting none the less.

Cover saturation gets around that though, you opponent can't ignore all your units cover saves. Being able to cancel other units stealth/shrouded is pretty strong too. Definitely like the runes of battle and the dual defensive/offensive nature. Not too impressed by the runes of fate though. The whole army going up to BS4, WS4 and I5 is great too. Laser lock makes scatter lasers great on tanks just to twinlink your other weapons. I can see a lot of great things in this codex. It looks like it has a load of potential. Here's a really good summary on why the book is looking great so far.

| It seems there is going to be a lot to digest in this book. Tons of new rules like the twin-linking effect of scatterlasers, battle trance, etc. I'm really excited. And to boot everyone else on the internet seems to hate it, except Eldar players, so we can still maintain our "us vs. the world" mentality. lol @Mush- All these big durable units like Wraithguard, Wraithknights, and even Wave Serpent seem like a perfect compliment to your Reaver lists, or you could go with even more cheaper guardian JB's and more effective Vypers. You must be stoked | |

| @Cavalier: It will be interesting how it all works together. I probably won't field eldar allies straight away but it means I sure as hell won't run out of interesting options any time soon (if I get bored with what I'm currently running). Another thing is the amount of S10 AP2 eldar can bring to the table, wraith guard come standard with 12" S10 AP2 guns! Though I doubt allied detachments will be able to field them as troops. I think this eldar codex is just what "Eldar players" wanted! A book with a very high skill ceiling and lots of potential. | |

| I had a look through the codex at the store last night - looks like mono filiment weapons might be fairly popular. they are strenth 6-9 depending on weapon, however if the initiative of the target is 3 or lower ( or has non - read tanks) then add +1 to strenth, also on a to hit of 6 they gain AP1 ( most are ap 6 apart from one which is s8 ap2) | |

Well its mainly for melee that it has fleshbane, doesn't hurt that it's in the range weapon profile too. I don't see the big deal.

| If it was just s9, it would cause ID to most space marine and softer targets.
Mushkilla, I'm imagining a Batrep of yours with "27 reavers, and a Wraith Knight", like a swarm of bees with a bear.

| I've seen army list.
Well - my favorite scorpions got 1 less atacks, but they are now rending atacks...nice. Mandiblasters are a crap though.
Edit - oh noes - thats only for exaarch chainblades. Sorry folks, Scorpions are still crap and are nerfed.
All the weapons upgrades on vehicles are significantly cheaper, really cheaper, EML being an exception.
Prism got third firing mode, with Lance speacial rule.
Harlies got their old Veil of Tears back.
Seer Councile is plain crazy - Ulthwe funs are gonna be really pleased.

| Yeah they got a S6 (or 7 if you take crushing blow) power fist that strikes at I6 and is AP2 that's all kinds of fun. They also come stock with move through, cover, stealth and infiltrate. | |

So, until they FAQ it (which I do actually expect them to do), we're in a situation where DE harlies have a completely different shadowseer power from the Eldar harlies.

Exarch is hot, but scorps are not. Dont know whats better Autohit S3 or one more S4 atack. They got Fleet, which is good.

| I just looked at a spoiler/rumor online and I saw the missile launcher was the only weapon with skyfire! I really wanted to take an allied detachment to cover up the one glaring weakness my army has.
I am unfamiliar with Eldar, is the missile launcher available on most troop choices?

| The crimson hunters (eldar fighter jets) look like good air superiority fighters (re-rolls pens against flyers, 4 S8 AP2 shots, vector dancer, can be upgraded to BS5). Especially if you have an autarch to get +1/-1 to reserves to make sure it comes on when you want. | |

| I haven't been too big on using flyers myself. But you're right, that is a real powerful counter to opponent's flyers. Also Fast Attack not heavy I hear. I hope it's point cost isn't too large. | |

This is a class, from my less than 1 year experience in playing this game which is mostly spent on DE, that is heavily based on play style. I have seen some damn good things done with them on a tactical stand point not just because of the stats but because of the special rules. On a separate note. If the Eldar jet fighters are fast attack, it would be fun to have a few with the DE heavy fighters. Be really expensive but fun.
