Eldar Rumours

My games workshop (Canada) says this Saturday you can pick up the codex and the models you have preordered.

The Autarch synergy is an important note...because you may want -1 to reserves to keep the flyer from coming on the board if their are quad-guns around when the Eldar flyers hit the board.

Probably every week/every two weeks they will release a few models at a time.

AFAIK everything that is featured in this months WD will be released this Saturday.

All the new eldar stuff like the new aspect warriors models, I was told by someone they release new stuff for the army every week or two throughout the month till finished unless they arent releasing any new models other than what was shown in WD. That would suck.

Not sure who told you that but that's not what GW does. They release all the models in the WD, so Wraithknight, Wraithguard/Blades, Flyers, Farseer, Spiritseer etc on the same day then move on to the next army. So no new models for the foreseeable future other than the ones we already see in WD.

The Serpent Shield recharges every turn.

Thanks for the clarification. No point in me waiting for models that dont exist. Infact its better since I dont need to buy any new pretty models.

I havn't heard anything about the nightspinner tank. Is it still there or do I now own a very unorthodox paperweight??

it's still there. No idea on points values etc but it's in the summary at the back of the codex.

Same number of points apparently, but the gun has changed completely. It's listed as Shadowweaver on the pastebin link that you can probably find somewhere on the interwebz.

it feels like it's X-mas or my birthday here. this weekend i get to unwrap three new boxes of models, and read through a new book. today my venom came in from ebay, with a handwritten note that said, "sorry i lost the flying base, i hope the extras will make up for it."

the extras in the box, 2 metal imp guard(1 cadian, 1 catachan), a sybarite, and a converted Dire Avenge Exarch on jetbike. very sweet deal, indeed. XD

The nightspinner has a twinlinked doomwearver and has two fire modes:

48" S7 AP6 barrage large blast monofilament (re-rolls to hit from twinlinked)

or

S7 AP6 torrent pinning monofilament (re-rolls to wound from twinlinked)

Monofilament makes all hits auto wound at AP1 on a roll to wound of 6 (so rending light) and also gets +1S against anything with I3 or less or no initiative value (vehicles). Effectively making it a S8 weapon against vehicles. Pretty nasty.

So, now that some people actually have the codex, here's the burning question:

Will eldar blessings work on allied dark eldar units (and, conversely, will allied eldar psykers be able to bless primary detachment dark eldar units)?

How would you go about getting Guide and Prescience? It was my understanding that you had to trade in all of your codex powers for book powers if you chose to do so.

That is only if you have powers you can pick from (or have powers given to you base) the new thing they have done with the random book powers in the new codexi is that you can pick and choose which charts you are rolling off of. So if you have access to more than 1 chart, you can take two rolls off of one, and one off the other. So you can get both guide (the primaris Runes of Fate power) and Prescience (the primaris power from divination)

So you can roll to wound even if the S:T wouldn't allow for a wound otherwise?

Yes if you roll a 6 it ignores toughness
