FW @ US GD: Seminar; Dark Eldar Tantalus

As crazy as this sounds, $120 USD for a FW super heavy is not bad. Hell, only $20 more than a Baneblade and it looks THAT good? As long as it doesn't suck as bad as the Reaper I'll get one to finish out my first painted 3000pts.

So its gonna be super-heavy or normal vahicle?? cuz my friends gonna wine if its super heavy...

Can't wait to see rules. They will decide if i get poor again...

Its Epic , I have already dispatched minions to games day to aquire it for me, lets pray the rules are good, does sound tasty from the fluff.

Lets hope the pulse dissie's are of use vs vehicles , infact I hope IT is of use VS vehicles , though it's good news its going to have 'official' rules soon.

Do I buy it at Games Day or ask for it for Christmas or buy it at Warhammer World in October if there or buy it at Games Day and eBay it for many pain tokens or buy it in the future.....

Now that I have seen it painted I like it a lot more, really will be a centre piece to any army.

Rules? I'm not fussed really as I don't play with Forge World much, will use it once in a blue moon but it's just too awesome not to buy.

I feel your pain (and i enjoy it...) i had plans going to GD UK aswell, but they dissappeared like fog.

To bad that i have to wait now... but that leaves me with the opportunity to finish all those raiders, warriors and the other stuff. And after that i will help myself to one of these beauties.

In all honesty... the first few pictures really didn't made it for me. But the painted version which is standing on a Valkry-Base tipped me over. It looks so huge, yet streamlines and afforable....

The Tantalus is one of the most graceful models you can find anywhere in the current GW and FW ranges, and any other model manufacturer's range for that matter.

But if you go through the voluminous threads on the major 40K forums about FW's press release last week announcing both the Tantalus and the Proteus, most of the comments - by a huge margin - are from people raving on about the Proteus, which is a resin version of the original-design Beakie Land Raider. The Tantalus doesn't even rate a mention from most users.

I've got about 2-3 of the originals if they are that excited. I would gladly trade them 1:1 for the Tantalus

Oh it is, obviously the gods would prefer matt ward, but chickens are easy to get, and people don't object when you complete proceedings by ritually eating them.....with roast potatoes.

However I really do sincerely wish I could reverse their respective roles as I feel a chicken woyld be a far more talented games designer.

OT: Tantalus is freakin' awesome. But that price. Oh dear, my poor wallet.

The name is fitting, for months it has been teased just out of reach, like the the greek myth. Hopefully the wait will be over soon. Has any one heard about a release date of this Imperial armour apoc. second edition, said to contain its rules? I am hoping the rules come out with the model, not like the corsair kit that came out months ago with rules in upcoming Imperial Armour 11.

Why would they publish a book, or why buy it, if the content is for download?

The rules are apparntly going straight into the next IA update, I'm guessing they dont want a similar backlash to what the Reaper got, does mean however that IF it does suck, which is likely given FW's track record, we wont see any feedback acted on for years.

Please please please PLEASE don't spoil this wonderful model for us too FW

I'm sure I read somewhere that the IAA - Second Edition book is coming out 'before Xmas', so not too long to wait really.
I asked the questions about what the Tantalus' weapons etc could be over on Warseer, but it got lost in the nerdgasm over the Proteus.
Hideous, blocky model when it came out - and it still is, but you're paying lots more for the privelege.

Well i guess you can measure how good a product is, by how much nerdrage it gets.

so the tantalus is, as we know it AWESOME, cause you can't rage about it XD
