- I disagree, here's what you do.
Assume any unit or character without a unit has been taken out of the codex, even Vect. Assume we get three books and the supplements are essential if you want to run anything other than a kabal. Assume we get a psyker or a way to cast psychic powers. Assume rules are barely changed except a few cost hikes here and there. Assume no new models.
Once you're prepared for that, there's no way Games Workshop can live up to your low expectations. And if for some reason they do, you prepared for it. ' That's definitely the way to go about it

| That's my mantra: Expect the worst hope for the best. Especially in games of chance.
Yeah, that splinter cannon might take out those five terminators, but it's probably going to take all 20. Yeah, that Dark Lance might blow up that land raider, but it's probably going to take all 15.
Yeah, Games Workshop might not screw us over, but precedent.
You deal with less disappointment that way.
Also, more naftka! http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/09/splinter-cannons-becoming-salvo-and.html
So add Splinter Cannon being nerfed to the list of assumptions.

| I barely call that nerf. We might lose a few poison shots per turn, maximum. And we dont know the rest of the dex. | |

This. Don't assume that anything you hear before the release is right. Wait until you have the book, or else there'll probably be a flood of negativity

| Pretty sure I read that assumption about the splinter cannon becoming salvo in a comments thread on faeit. The "rumours" on there are pretty much self perpetuating by this point. The unreliability of Dark Eldar rumours on there is exacerbated by the fact that Natfka has told every reader repeatedly how eager he is for any information on Dark Eldar, which just sends a message to those wanting to troll him that they're probably a good army to pick.
A lot of people seem to be taking the fact that the Voidraven is in the codex as confirmation that there is a model for it. It's in this one, and we don't have a model for it, so I can't take that as a guarantee, even with a rumoured price point. What would make a lot more sense is if they repackaged the Razorwing as a dual build kit and rewrote the fluff for the Voidraven to get rid of the targeting pod and reduce the overall size. Then they only need to include slightly different lances, which would fit in exactly the same holes as the existing weapons, and add a little torpedo tube looking thing under the nose for the bomb.
I won't believe anything until I have the codex in my hands!

Poor Kruellagh. I had my tea to my lips, had the tea been in my mouth i'd currently be wiping my screen clean. You had me smiling at the typing and opening jars, but the jazz hands were just too much.

| I'd be lying if I said I hadn't had the same thought about Splinter Cannons. Salvo 4/6 makes more logical sense than having an Assault 4 and Heavy 6 profile for the same weapon, even if it is a reduction in effectiveness.
Re: the void raven, the concept art is actually quite different from the Razorwing model. The hull is different enough that it wouldn't make sense as a combined kit with the current sculpt. That said, re-working the fluff and giving it a different lance would probably work nicely. Honestly, the fliers as a whole need an overhaul to fit their own fluff. At present, the Jetfighter works better as a bomber because it comes stock with 5 large blast missiles, and the Bomber works better as a fighter because it comes with 2 higher strength lances, and only a single one-shot bomb.

Dropping a deuce on your opponent in the movement phase at 36" range is great. Once you've used it the effectiveness of the model isn't really worth the cost anymore... but I still love the Void Raven! - Cavash wrote:

This.
Don't assume that anything you hear before the release is right. Wait until you have the book, or else there'll probably be a flood of negativity There are different ways of coping with the unknown, I'd much rather be prepared for disappointment than be blindsided by it. I'm still looking forward to a new release. I reserve my negativity for the actual release, and whenever that happens I'm less likely to be as negative as everyone else, because my expectations were already low. And if the release is full of great changes? I'm super happy.

The cover of the next white dwarf reveals a new looking Haemonculi with long hair down one side, but may be a conversion. There are two wracks flanking him with more wracks in the background.
Also on the cover........ Symphony of Pain A new Minigame Inside
New Dark Eldar! Beware the Flesh-Shapers Beneath the Dark City, the Haemonculi Perform their Dread Art Personally, I am loving the Coven emphasis so far.

| That's because they're the ones with biggest potential, AND the most likely models to get resculpted (wracks and grotesques both being finecast). The one time I've ever had a void mine be useful was when Farsight and his friends landed, shot something, and forgot to jet-pack and spread out. That was predictably painful. Needs more bombs. Maybe give it 4 bombs instead of missiles? | |

| Hey guys, Void Dragon is missing from FW site...maybe dual kit with Void Raven? I remember it was a huge Flyer, and pretty popular with people who were willing to pay FW prices. | |
