| Am I the only one who is starting to feel we will get Eldar Treatment? New models into one section only - Covens (like Wraiths had), and the rest of the models will get bit boosted in special rules and more expensive?
Kinda feels sad for me as the Covens are only a small portion of DE. Kabals and Cults should be the main focus if we are talking about DE as a race...
Although I am still hopeful that the probable Voidraven release and the rumoured Tantalus will mean the distribution of GW love all over the dex. :-D

As long as we get a bit of a boost, we don't need a slew of new models. Covens are just the easiest to add to from a design standpoint, so if any area gets some love you'd expect it to be that one.

Although I am still hopeful that the probable Voidraven release and the rumoured Tantalus will mean the distribution of GW love all over the dex. :-D I'm happy to get any sort of treatment. I've always viewed Kabals, Cults, and Covens as equally important, and even though Covens may be my least favorite fraction of Dark Eldar society, fluffwise they're probably the most integral. So much so in fact, they enjoy a small amount of outside political immunity, because they're single-handedly responsible for keeping the race alive. But back to my second sentence, I would prefer to get equal treatment everywhere. Voidraven for Cults, new monster for Coven, and a Dais/Tantalus for Kabals would make me giddy. Even if it is a pipe dream at best. But I'd be extremely happy with plastic wracks (even moreso for grotesques). I know our soldiers are fragile, but the model material (finecast) shouldn't reflect it. I should fear an assault because my model might die, not break in half!

| Heh. And on top of all that I feel like we are balancing on the edge of ending either on the bottom or the top of the powerlevel. Currently we are good allies for eldar and the army for which noone prepares and thus feared on tourneys. But noone takes us seriously considering purely DE lists with 1 CAD. I would very much like to remain a difficult army to play, but I would like to get some more punch. But with punch I dont mean S10 lances for 5 pts, I mean options. Plenty options and all kinds of dickery that will make every army unique in strategy and tactics and still will require effort from listbuilding onwards, not spamming... | |

| It's possible that it might not be by choice that not all models get updated. I remember having a chat with Jes Goodwin shortly after the Eldar codex was released and apparently they were struggling for time with all they had to do. Eventually they got stuck with a choice, models for Wraithguard or new Jetbikes, as both were showing their age, and Wraithguard got the nod (likely due to the emphasis on wraiths in the most recent 'dex). | |

| Hmmm... so Saim-Hann supplement could be on the way? :-) IIRC that should be the one with emphasis on bikers and vypers and such, no? :-) | |

| Which is a shame TBH. They biker models are exceedingly ugly even for the sterile eldar design... | |

Actually, S10 lances for 5 pts sounds fine... (Somewhere in the outskirts of Nottingham, deep inside their underground lair, the GW design team reads this. 'My god!' one exclaims. 'They don't want S10 lances for 5 pts! Quick, while there's still time! We can cross out the 'S10' and write in a '2' before the '5 pts', turning them back to how they were!')('No, no!' I shout. 'Leave it the way it is! It's fine, really!' But it's too late, they've all gone running into the warehouse armed with boxes of black markers. Thousands of books are already printed... this will take them a while...)('Aargh! Now look what you've done!') - aurynn wrote:

| @Agatha: Hehe... I confess. I am a Tau agent... Omg. Just saying something like that makes my guts twitch... hate fish that are not on my plate and grilled. Especially those who are trying to prevent that fate by shooting a railgun in my face...
@Alino: Dissies are Heavy. Similar usefu lness like DL warriors... I would much rather like HWB... Not mentioning that we dont need Dissies for anything that we cant solve by other means.

| personally i dont think the de need any new models, not because it wouldnt be cool, but because in honesty they have some damn cool models already, i like that wracks are going plastic, its great for modelling purposes and getting a flier would be wicked. but i think someone earlier hit the nail on the head, i want to see awesome rules and diversity first. im very new to de, but the codex has some cool items (webway portals, pain tokens) the only issue is that the current mechanics mean they dont work as well as most would like. meaning that when i do try and bring the de i tend to only really have a few options. im sure some players enjoy the current de playstyle, but i really like using variety of lists and themes and with all dexs i simply like them to have a reasonable amount of viable variety. i like the idea of 3 dexs and love for the coven, just so long as it results in the other options remaining viable i hate it most when a new dex simply shifts the playstyle from one to another. i really dislike spam lists not because their strong but simply because i dont want to feel like i am disadvantaging myself because i am not playing that way. little wishlisting here, but high on my list is the ability to bring our vehicles independently, that opens up not only new options within our dex, but also would allow me to field banshees. | |

| Almost all (maybe all, not sure) new dexes got the option for taking transports separately, so I think we should be safe in that regard.
Well... I hope that necrons wont get that option... O.O
