Kabalite Project - Green blazes galore!

Nice one.
I really like the brain itself, what colours did you use? skintones and red or something alike?

It is a mix of blood red, skulle white and tallarn flesh, adding more white for the highlights. Also, I laid a wash with gryphonne sepia on the regular brain and thraka green on the hold.

Three new models, first the fourth blasterborn:




That means I have painted all my Trueborn:


Then I also have a second Sslyth:



And a usual kabalite.




This actually means I have no basecoated models - all my Dark Eldar are either finished or not painted at all.

Love the Sslyth with the arm from the Raider kit. Nice stuff!

Thanks both - the sslyth is an awesome model indeed. The third one should also have different arms, thinking about f.ex. using wych arms.

It looks really great together! Thanks for sharing the army photos. I think most of us get so caught up with the latest model that we've painted that we forget to show one of these from time to time to see how it all ties together. Impressive.

Thank you. I won't buy anything more until I have seen what I got from my family for christmas (hoping for a ravager especially); I don't have anything new to show right now, and what I am painting right now is mainly those models on top of the post, and my craftworld Eldar. Also, I today got a box of metal Incubi sent to me - very happy about that. They will not have capes, I think that theme fits better as an exclusive for the trueborn and archon, plus that I think the vanes are very cool. They will have the same scheme as my "current" Incubi, though.

Also, I'm thinking a bit of adding some detail to the Harbinger, perhaps some runes on the blades similar to the Klaives.

It should be most helpfull to make him stand out from the rest of the unit (in case the twin polearm didnt tip you off

Now about to paint a guy with a Shadow Pyre, and the ravager's steersman. And, I have also almost finished the third (well, fourth if you count the Dusk Knight) Incubi.

The wielder of the shadow pyre is finished - very much hoping people will allow me to use its rules:



On a different note, there is something annoying I just noticed about my raider: The dark lance is placed upside down. It looks, IMO, quite odd, especially when you look at the other ones with dark lances (luckily, none of the ones on the ravager was placed wrong). I suppose the gunner thinks it works better this way, or something. Jerk.

Also, I am frankly thinking about removing the green detailing on the Dusk Knight's armour... Because despite what Skjalgepalg, Evil Space Elves and Devilish said, I myself is not completely satisfied with them... More if parts of his armour was coloured similarly to his helmet, what do you think about that?

On topic, I have now re-painted the Dusk Knight's armour a little, once again. I personally think it looks much better now:

I liked him before, but he does look better somehow now. I did like the little green highlights you had on his armour before, though.

I like him more now, he's got a bit more pop now.

Gob - perhaps good, but there still was something i didn't like, and in my case there's only one thing to do, if so... (For example, my Harry the Hammer was repainted three times before I was satisfied)

Now I have two Incubi left to paint, and there is the ravager of course. Oh, and I recently converted a regular kabalite with a blaster, so he's about to get a painting. However, I am also working on a scratchbuilt fighta bomma for a competition, so it might take some time before I have something to actually show.
