NO AP2 melee weapon, only power sword, huskblade or Djiin blade. Blast pistol 15p, Blaster 15p and Animus Vitae 20p as AP2 ranged weapons. He can get items from arcane wargear (haywire g, PGL,Clonef,WWP and shadowfield). He can get a Venom for him self.

So, question(s) about Archon (and associated gear).
- How much is the new Djinn Blade - Does the Djinn Blade stack with another weapon? ie, does having the gear simply confer bonus attacks? Or must you use the Blade itself (a power sword) to gain the additional benefits?
What I'm trying to sort out is whether or not the Archon will be a proper lawnmower (for anything other than 2+ saves, that is). If you're able to power up the Soul Trap, you're looking at a *very* reliable wound-machine. Adding more attacks to this is, obviously, only beneficial. Since the Archon no longer likes to snort with his wych friends, this seems the only way to even hope for bolstering his attacks.
Thanks again for all you've done here. 1. 30p 2. its not a specielist weapon so I guess it can.

Demiklaives either +1S AP2 two handed or S as user AP3 +1 Attack.

I think I;ve read that they come with liquifiers and flesh gauntlets. True? What kind of gear can Aberrations take?
Thanks for the effort Scorpion. 1: They start with FG and CCW. You can replace CCW with LG for 15p. 2. Aberations can take Weapons of Torture: Mindphase G, Scissorhand, Agoniser.

Thanks a lot Scorpion, for providing us with all the info. Seems to be a lot of changes, even if small and each unit has a specific roll. At least I can now finish painting my 9 mandrakes. They are also min squad size of 5 right? So no riding in the archon venom. min size for mandrakes is 3 for 36p.

Then they are not. Its not under the Command Benefits of the detachment. It states that the Realspace Raiders Detachment is a Unique Detachment only for DE.

Those are the only options the voidraven has. So the Void Raven has a 3+ evade if you take night shields - nice!

| I have the feeling that our army just got a bit tougher... There are good cover saves to take and ways of getting FnP for the hole army (no need to kill something). So it will be interesting to see how more survivability will affect our game. The Ignore Cover Save rule is to be avoided at all costs or it will have to dealed with quickly in a game. WWP and DS and mandrakes will need to have their priorities in check when they are deployed (from reserves or from the beginning).
Talk with some friends yesterday (with more 40k experieance than me) and they said the new DE codex could make the Eldar armies completely broken. DE with E Allies or the other way around will be a no brainer in tournaments. The new WWP and DS transports take the Eldar units to another level.

I played a Tau gunline yesterday and tabled it thanks to a drop podding ironclad on turn 1, arrived and took out pathfinders with two heavy flamers. That meant his riptides (2) were less effective and I could ignore them till the end.

| The overall opinion I'm getting is that our army feels substantially less glass hammer, and that's something I've not seen many people discuss. Sure, we've lost some damage potential and tricksyness, but we've also got a fair amount tougher. Power From Pain overhaul offers substantial survival benefits, lots of ways to boost cover saves, etc. | |

| Being able to increase the turn for pfp is amazing the whole army can have fnp 5 from turn one. Certainly makes everything more survivable! | |

| So Nightshields and either our own detachment or formation = 4+ cover without the need of jink on the first turn. Nice! | |

Only for troops, yes. Rest of the army get 6+ cover save (+ NS giving it 5+)

so no more 5 troopers in a venom? I seem to recall the answer was no, minimum 5 but you have to have 10 to take a raider.

so no more 5 troopers in a venom? Answered in the summary on the first page - warriors stayed the same. Can take a dedicated Raider even if there's more than ten of them.
