What makes you think that we will receive new content? I mean I wish, but... Ugh, sorry. I will stop being so pessimistic now.

| I really don't think we should expect much more than a refresh on the points costs, some additional/amended rules on the odd unit here and there and then a load of faction related relics and strategems.
Is that not what we are expecting?

| Jeah I think the faction thing can be a real big issue, and it can be no problem at all, it just depends on how it is implemented. But I also fear we ill see litle besides some point adjustments and stratagems and relics... I just hope most of our weapons and units will be viable instead of the handfull that were great when the index dropped. And that we can do more then just spam transports and darklight.
I also doubt we will see new models, and I don't mind that to much (which is why I fear the new ealves maybe they will make us like the beastmen). I don't want my box of 10 wyches see a price hike from 23 euro to 50 (45 wych ealves+5 gun hand sprue). I like most of our plastics (it is why I started dark eldar) and they are slightly older thus well priced. Some of the character units and beasts are stupid, but most of those are easily convertable.

| So hoping they realize that: 1. Poison is not nearly as effective as they THINK it is. Assault, NOT rapid fire for gods sake! 2. Dark lances need to be str 9, or need to be rapid fire, or SOMETHING to mitigate the high cost with average output 3. Starweaver vs venom. Nuff said. 4. Our hand to hand units SUCK at hand to hand (yes wyches, I am looking at you). 5. The entire coven section is unplayable 6. Mandrakes are point efficient and fluffy. Look at them. Compare everything to them. 7. Reavers... how the mighty have fallen. FIX THAT! reaver troops for wych cults should be a thing.
Sadly, from experience, what they WILL realize is: 1. Jetfighters are too good. Increase 30 pts 2. Arcons 2++ is OP- make it a 4++, fail and it is gone 3. Wracks need only one poison weapon. Ossefactor +10 pts. 4. Grots have too many wounds.
I kid (kind of) and I am HOPING for a balanced, powerful, competitive codex. This is the last chance I am giving them before I sell off my dark Eldar, which is a shame since I have played them since the beginning. I am just tired of being let down.
Hoping for the best! | |

| Quite right I just double checked...S8 which I don't think is that bad. I prefer having -4 AP than the additional S like the Lascannon. | |

| im genuinely filled with dread with this announcement... The rumors, which turn 99% of the time to be true, placed us AFTER Tau and necrons, the only reason i see for them to push us first is just to throw the codex out of the door in order to win time to flesh out the "imortant" codexes... Guys i wish i get proven wrong but i think we should prepare for the worst... | |

| I only hope the reason why we won't have Vect is because Malys took over and we'll have a Malys model. Buuuutt... I don't WANT that !! | |

| So, I think it's pretty reasonable to not expect any new models. However, do you think we'll get datasheets for units without an actual model? | |

LOL.. and that is literally why Tom Kirby was removed as CEO Kevin Rountree was like "listen investors, we need to sell good rules, good rules will make more money, and we need some discounted boxes, let me do this to prove to you i'm correct. Let me make 3-4 formations to show you that players flock to powerful rules" #TauDar rules! #RiptideWing #SkyhammerAssault #StarCollectionBoxes

| I think he meant succubus on jetbike etc, so no models, but the only way to make them is with 2 different kits. | |

"We are a Modeling Company" is an old phrase Tom Kirby used to say all the time when Codex's were bad, came out slow, or just not balanced. He was quoting him to be sarcastic.

I expect all HQs getting the same treatment as the CWE Autarch and not having any kind of wargear not provided in their "box". What you buy is what you get. As Bloodbrides and Trueborns dont have a model, normal wyches and kab. war are normally used, i kinda fear they will drop them from the codex, and while Bloodbrides might not really be a huge loss in their current state, Trueborns on the other hand... Do any other army have a "Trueborn" type of unit where you have to use the base unit and then call it "elite"?

Remember when DE got updated we didnt have all the box kits as we do now. Many came later, even the venom wasnt right out the door.

If I remember right, IG conscripts, infantry, and veterans all share the same models.

| Being able to move half distance in the opponents psychic phase would actually make me feel like a king of maneuverability. However, all I'm expecting is a copy paste of the Craftworld's deep strike Strategems, and a 1CP one that allows me to double my movement at the expense of shooting and charging. | |

| I'm cautiously optimistic....I don't think I've been as scarred as most the folks here from our treatment, but then I was a Bretonnian player in 8th ed Fantasy and waited for the book that never came before they ended the game. The fact that we're getting a book and they didn't "Endtimes" 40k tells me this will be better than my previous experience.
I'm hoping they don't mess up anything that is already good (mandrakes, jets, Archon's 2++) but just make the other choices VIABLE. I started this army after a breakup, so I literally bought every single model i liked. I have tons of jetbikes and hellions I WANT DESPERATELY to paint and use....along with plenty of kabs and wyches that are just collecting dust.
Here's hoping!
