| Well just because they aren't releasing new models doesn't mean we won't have new selections in our codex, I point to grey knights and Death Guard as examples of stuff having a data sheet in the codex and not having a model for a little while ... Hell even primarus marines were getting new stuff after their initial release. So there is no saying for sure we won't get anything new. Though I do have to feel a little bad that we may be coming out before Tau and Necron ... As we did (even if it wasn't much of anything) get something in the joke that was Chapter Approved ... And they hot nothing ... But still CODEX DRUHKARI!!!!! excitement ... | |

| I'm just hoping that the warlord traits are much better thought out than most of our chapter approved ones, and also that they fix the generic and cult traits we already have | |

| After looking at my DE more, if Reavers become good again, i'll be happy. but they need to be either 12pts (yes 12, i looked at 10 other units and this is the price they should be as they are now) or re-worked.. so i'm not holding my breath. | |

Yeah but i dont really want just point drops for Reavers, i want their uniqueness back The old style bladevanes where you could go flat out over the top of models would be amazing.

The old Reavers were completly over the top, so they have to be redesigned. The current bladevanes are nothing to scoff at, really. It's the price tag (obviously), and the special weapons that are a problem. Heatlances and blasters are not powerful enough to justify Reavers, and the CCaltrops/Gtalons are a big joke. Those 2 need a complete overhaul.

| I hope the heatlance and some other special weapons will get a point reduction or boost. The heatlance is in my opinion an anti-tank weapon, but with current rules it can't really hurt them and characters are usually hidden in some troops, so no real chance off insta-gibbing them as well. But better reavers should be in it and better Archons ALso I'm really hoping for some special HQs or the potions we had in 3rd edition (Jetbikes, Hellions for out HQs. | |

| It probably already exists. It's been rumored for over 3 years. It's not that they don't want to create it: It's that they don't want to release it. | |

I've got the feeling that the release schedule at GW got royally screwed up at some point over these last three years. My guess is that 8th edition was basically going to be more of the same until Rountree got made CEO and decided that things should be shaken up.

Me too. They are gorgeous to say the least. Also those nagas, while being awesome in their own right, also look like perfect for Sslyth spam...

| Honestly, I'd be very surprised if most of the new Aelves line wasn't in the new DE Dex. It's really no coincidence that the sci-fi pointy eared sadists got announced at the exact same time as the new line of fantasy pointy eared sadists.
Historically we've been the experiment faction for new ideas (fliers come to mind). They've toyed with the idea of including AOS kits into the 40k line this edition, but I think we're meant to be the big financial "test."
From a business perspective as well, in theory, having, mostly, the same costs of production and distribution but, speaking in the roughest possible terms here, doubling your avaliable market will likely bring a profit.
Timing. Precedent. Profit. The magic three.
Closer to our release date, my prediction is that there will be a Community article detailing how we can use the new models as a substitute for Sslyth, Succubi, etc, or, perhaps, as new units entirely.

| It's plausible.
The new version of harpies could be a melee variant on Scourges, the medusae are obvious Sslyth conversion material, Morathi's elf model looks like it would work equally well as an Archon or a Succubus.
It's unfortunate that the current Witch Elves aren't the easiest things to convert due to the joints on their arms, otherwise they'd be prime material for Bloodbrides.

| Maybe I missed something as I've had a busy weekend and haven't been able to pay close attention to all the news but, it seems like Necrons are next given that they get much of the focus on the community site article.
Either way stoked about the fact we are finally getting a codex. Looks like AoS releases will be conversion fodder for us. Let's hope our stratagems, traits, and points cost are all good and our book should be alright. I think that's keeping my hopes realistic.
Did anyone catch the most recent battle report on Tabletop Tactics on demand? Lawrence seems to have a very conservative outlook on what we will be getting.

| I wonder how easy it would be to torso swap the snake girls to put something like a Wrack or Executioner torso on them. That alone could radically shift the model. | |

yes the official site just has a picture with Necron, Tau, dark eldar order i dont think the wording has any meaning, the order will be this. I think the confusion came from that Bols article...

| I believe seeing a report from the seminar that specifically said that Drukhari will be first out of the three dexes. It is still a rumour, but the wording I remember was way too specific for it to be just a guess. And with revelation of DAelf models I tend to believe we will be up right after Nagash. | |

I dont listen to anything Lawrence says, he said many things i completely disagree with, with DE. But i do still watch their videos. I didnt see the T-sons one a couple days ago, is that the one your talking about? And idk what you mean by on demand? I thought that was a cable thing, is it twitch?

| Oh, ok. Well i'm not paying to watch him lol. I mean others can, i'm not against supporting who you like (I'm glad people support others actually), but i put my support in other places. After somethings he said in the past that made no sense (since?) and Reece OMG DE ARE AMAZING. I'm not listening to GW payboys anymore | |

| I watch Table Top Tactics...best by a mile for me. I really do prefer their bat reps over any others.
I watched the DE Vs Sisters batrep and I didn't really pic up on anything other than Lawrence saying we are not a competitive army as things stand. He is always mindful to point out that is the case for most of the armies without a Codex.

| We for sure are not a comp army. Something i do agree with on.
We odon't have powers like CWE/Quins We dont have those hammer units either like Shiny Spears (that are the same points as Reavers FYI) We dont have Tough transports at all like WS's, Starweavers We dont have 3+ armor on most units like the 6 Aspect Warrior units We dont have Rending on all basic weapons We dont have any good Auras like CWE/Quins Ynnari doesnt benefit us like Quins/CWE
Honestly what we do have are weapon platforms, the thing we are suppose to be good at, and fast (but we currently are the same sped as CWE and slower than Quins). Atm we dont even have Weapon Platforms like Dark Reapers, Fire Dragons, etc..
Im not trying to be negative, we do have many Pro's, but being an Index that was gutted puts us on the backside.
Here is hoping the codex will fix that!
