Yeah, people should start talking about it from Saturday forward. If I heard Spintermind correctly during a previous episode, they apparently have 4 episodes already recorded, reviewing various aspects of the new codex.

Do you know how far in advance they get their copies? I have good hopes for Hellions if Paulie added a squad to his Sky Serpents!

No idea. But the Spintermind guys have been suggesting that they've had it for a significant amount of time.

Skari said in his last Q&A that it's likely that he will do a preview of the Codex on saturday as well. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjRjdXGlIC8
And Lawrence from TTT said that he will be doing several Drukhari matches once the pre-order starts.
Since GW is apparently not capable of promoting their product, at least we have sufficient backup.

The Splintermind team mentioned in December that they had enough to go over in the new book that they have pre-recorded 4 episodes talking about it, and are just waiting to be able to publish them. So, suffice to say, they've had it a while. I'm not sure if the embargo lifts on pre-order day or release day.

Advance & charge Wyches with 3 (or 4??) attacks, -1AP, plus whatever the obsessions are. Jesus. Cult's heyday is finally here. We got Trueborn too so let's pray for Bloodbrides!

It only mentioned Cult of Strife by name. but it shows what rules we can reasonable expect. No huge surprises, WC talks about specialist detachments and unique stratagems for said detachment.
Just to make it clear, what they showed was exactly what we cannot expect. There are 3 armies of renown in the book. Deathguard, AdMech and Knights each get one. And there are 3 codex supplements in the book AdMech, Knights and Drukhari each get one. They only previewed the armies of renown not the codex supplement.

True, Drukhari do not have a regiment of renown
It's literally just the Cult of Strife supplement in that warzone.
It's Phoenix rising treatment all over again. But honestly I hate the idea of having CoS in a separate $60 book that has half the content then the $50 codex, worse still even less actual DE content.
Hard pass on that trash.

I kind of doubt that last part. Trueborn are elite Kabal units. Bloodbrides I do expect, as elite Cult unit. But we already have Grotesques as an elite for Covens. I don't think we will get more than that. Although I wouldn't mind being wrong here.

It was made clear in the article yesterday that Trueborn would not be the end of it. A Succubus and a Heamy would also have access to what you would recognise as Bloodbrides and then the Wracks will of course be the first example of a elite wrack.
So Archon, Succubus and Heamy can all be upgraded by paying points. Once upgraded they have access to their upgraded version of troops x1.
Pretty cool hey!
Taken from the article...”No doubt the Master Succubi and Haemonculi had their own retinues too”.

If I ever heard of those, I completely forgot. That was a thing? (I started in 5th edition, so maybe it was before that?)

You could take a unit of them if Urien Rakarth was in your army in 3rd edition. They were grotesques with buffed up stats.

Im going to call them "Torturer Tutors" for now, to keep the alliteration going.
I am still hoping that with the new Grotesque squad size we will get a new model/box for them. IIRC, when they were originally released back in 5th, the model got rushed. There should have been enough time in the last 5-10 years for them to finish the squad...

9th Edition Fear: a Poem
One out of five Scourge can be equipped with a Blaster. One out of five Scourge can be equipped with a Shredder. One out of five Scourge can be equipped with a Heat Lance. One out of five Scourge can be equipped with a Haywire Blaster. One out of five Scourge can be equipped with a Dark Lance. One out of five Scourge can be equipped with a Splinter Cannon.

That would mean a 5 model squad could not equip any of them, as that would be 4 scourges and 1 solarite. Your poem would correctly be like:
For every 5 models in the unit, one Scourge may replace its shardcarbine with a ...
And I still doubt that would happen.

Would be even cooler if they went back to 3rd edition models where you needed STR6 to wound them

In 5th, Urien could hand out additional pain tokens to either grotesques or wracks at the beginning of the game, sorta making them into 'uber' versions.

Hard to say.
We have seen this upgrade option for HQ’s for Space Marines and it was a pretty standard upgrade in some respects in that it mainly unlocked additional abilities.
Ours unlocks additional abilities but also upgrades a x1 troop choice. Question is have they given us the option to pay points to upgrade a named character? Which I highly doubt. Or have they included in the rules for Lelith and Rakarth the choice to upgrade x1 troop choice?
My feelings are that it’s unlikely but I do feel as though these characters would be expected to have a more elite retinue.
I have a feeling it may be possible to create a pretty nasty Succubus or Heamy without named characters. Upgrade them, make them even better and then open up the Bloodbrides and Super Wracks.

Well in the lore there is an "annual" fight to the death between a solitaire and a succubus in the biggest arena, and harlequins are frequently seen on the streets on Commoragh doing performances of great tales of Aeldari history, the most popular being the story of the fall when slannesh was born and on several realspace raides a troupe or two with a shadowseer, death jester, or solitare or some combination of all of them will pop in and out of the action ... it was a shadowseer that told Duke Syliscus to cut out one of the space wolf Loki the tricksters heart so it could be replaced by an arcane stasis grenade ... which still has to pay off ... so they play nice together, to a certain extent
