There must be a way to mitigate the heavy thing. Either a strat, obsessions, or something else.

Which implies that Blade Artists is -1Ap upon 6+ Wound Rolls. Makes me wonder whether this applies to Shooting or just Melee

@Skulnbonz i really love the idea behind the super wracks who can ignore one failed saving per phase.........this is the kind of rules the ''max 3 damage per phase models'' should have instead.

Haywire Blaster now S3 AP -3, no longer same general purpose weapon...dont rightly know what to think of Scourges. Heatlances seems fine, massive damage at 18.

No wonder GW put Scourges in the P&P box. They damn sure ain't selling any outside of it!

There must be something we (I?) haven't fully grasped about obsessions:
The Kabal of the Black Heart says: "If a Real Space Raid detachment contains a black hear archon then also Mercenary units gain +1 to their PfP rule. This means that ALL units in this detachment count their PfP as +1"
It seams to imply that Cult units would normally benefit from Kabal obsessions?

I am ok with the heavy thing not being mitigated in general.
It wont affect our ravagers 99% of the time. They should not be in combat, so Big Guns Never Tire is fine there.
Raiders/Venoms will be in combat, sometimes, but its only a -1 to hit, and if its that important, they can fall back and blast away.
The interesting thing will be how Reavers deal with it. Until now, Reavers were technically not vehicles. So they dont benefit from Big Guns Never Tire. But only 1 in 3 could take heat lances anyway.
The real losers there are Scourges, but then again...
Honestly, when running haywire scourges, I dropped them in with deep strike (so that sucks), and then left them in cover until they got blown up. They rarely moved. Moving would nearly always get them killed faster for me.
So now we have a choice - mobile sources with blasters/shreaders, or static scourges with DLs/Haywires.
Lots of "nerfs" and lots of "buffs", a general pivot towards melee, but honestly, the name of the game with this codex seems to be "there is no one army configuration - everything has its niche, and you WILL need to swap it out". I can see myself changing from Black Heart to Poison depending on who I am fighting and what they are bringing. I can see myself deciding on the day to bring certain wargear.
I can see why there are people feeling bad about the codex though. A lot of our "auto-takes" are now "not so auto-takes". But all in all, I am excited to play.

i had a feeling that in realspace raids you choose one obsession and every unit regardless of kabal coven or cult benefits from this. The above seems to confirm this... PLEASE dark technomancer ravagers ^_^

Really? With A LOT of -1 to hit rules AND the cap on -1 max?
I guess that -1 to hit will be basically the standard of 9th. So yeah, who cares, our dmg is amazing. There will be one time where having -1 builted it will be a buff more than a nerf, just because the oppo's rules will be useless

keeping the scourges near an archon in a RSR detachment would let them reroll 1's... there is that. Helps a bit but still sucks.

So Blade Artists is yet another pointless rule that does nothing. Good to know. Glad we gave up PfP as our ally-independent army rule just so we could get an arse version of Rending.
Also, I love how we're being pushed more towards combat... whilst at the same time our combat options are being nerfed to hell. Oh look, the Archon's one half-decent melee weapon lost its +1S. You know, that thing it needed to be in any way worth a damn. And the Haemonculus has apparently lost his only D2 melee weapon. Outstanding.
Also, Scourges have more heavy weapons and still no way to use them without penalty. Truly thoughtful design there.

I'm glad that dissies didn't get nerfed. Really happy about the new Heart Lances, with their melta rule always active.
Looks like the Electocorrosive whip is no longer D2? My Spanish is non-existent.
Many people should be happy with the transport capacities. Honestly surprised me.
As expected, we will need to totally revamp our lists now. I'm excited as heck!

Maybe the electrocorrosive whip is part of an upgrade list similar to what Crypteks get access to in the necron dex.

I will say, assuming the leak is correct, Master Haemonculus sounds pretty damn cool.
I wish I could say the same for the Master Archon (who's just a really crap Warboss at this point), but why would the closest thing we have to an overall leader of our faction be anything to write home about?

A Writ of the Living Muse Archon in a Realspace Raid can now grant Scourges reroll 1s to hit and wound.
That's a huge upgrade over what they were capable of in 8th, even with a -1 to hit penalty.
