So yeah, making those guns Heavy it's a way to say "hey, Talos and Reavers will use them at they BS".
You can pick 10 reavers (avoiding Blast effects), bring in 3 Heat lances, moving upon an INFANTRY unit, pop up Eviscerating Fly By (that now triggers on 4+ and you don't need to advance), dish out 5 MW on an Infantry (maybe an Infantry CHARACTER), shoot with 3 HeatLances at BS3+, and then even charge.

Yeah this Codex has a lot of (not so much neither) hidden tricks.

I mean, Talos and Reavers could still use them at their BS when they were Assault weapons, too...

Another trick is that Lelith seems to be good at catching heavy weapons in melee. Charge the screen, kill a model, move at least 12" closer, the consolidation moves from fighting twice. In you next turn you can switch to fallback and charge if you want to shoot whatever she tagged.

Did anyone notice how insane the Trypitch Whip got? It's +3 attacks, Poison 2+, AP-3, 2 damage.

Succubus also has 6 attacks now.

That's without drugs or Warlord traits. Let that sink in.

There's a lot of talk about consolidation moves and I think people are confusing pile-ins with consolidation, the two are very different and the timing is crucial.

Pile-ins happen pre-combat and the other is after the combat phase ends.

If i read Lelith rules correct, if enemy dont plan for her, they wont be able to even fight her.

She charges, fight when models who charged fight, kill some models, consolidate away from combat, wait till enemy can activate, then at the end of the fight phase activate again, pile-in, fight again. No place here where enemy can fight.

She basically fight and enemy do not.

And next turn she fight first, again. And the turn after that, because of Cult of Strife rules. And if enemy want to fall back, they need to roll of with her because of no escape.

Consolidating away from combat is a powerfull trick, i tried that with Malkan Feirros.

Not Razorwings, the bikes do.

Custom cults gives us +1 to wound on monsters and vehicles as well through Test of Skill. So you can totally take a Wych cult with tons of Bikes and have Razorwings benefit from ToS just like they are now.

For Bikes, they would have +1 to hit (vs everything) with shooting and +1 to wound vs. monsters/vehicles. It's nuts dude.

Yeah I think most of the custom cults look like a pass now. Old ToS was only ever a band aid until old DoT became all the rage. With the new traits and cult units being stronger, the big three cults all look relatively solid.

Strife is just too good. Damn...it's amazing. Always fight first, it's basically a Slaanesh Army.
And they have the strongest "fight twice/shoot twice" stratagem of the game. Just 2 CP, no triggers, select one Strife unit and just fire/fight a second time.
You can cast it once per round tho.

It's kinda depressing that our characters are still completely reliant on relics and warlord traits to be worth a damn.

Oh but there's now a Master upgrade for each . . . except that it just amounts to "take this upgrade as well or go home" because characters without that upgrade serve no purpose (not just because of what it gives them but because it's the only way to access Troops: Good Version).

This seems like the absolute worst way to apply this sort of upgrade.


And I get it, there's good stuff in the new book. I just find it depressing that GW can't ever give us anything decent without also delivering several hard kicks in the groin.

The info box has the plasma grenade stats, so I assume that is the correct one unless there is a rule we are missing here.

This will be like the melta bomb in the marine dex, units with the key word can use the strat.

There is Lightning Fast Reaction itself, and it cost 1 CP now! ("Reazioni fulminee")
But Fire and Fade costs 2 CP. ("Mai fermi")

It's the same as the haywire greneade stratagems in the old Codex. It just calls for a <HAYWIRE GRENEADE> unit, instead of "one model with plasma greneades".
"Pick 1 model on the unit, 1 single hit roll, if hit deals D3 MW".
Another wording, same stratagem.

Big thing : there's a stratagem for 2CP to make poison weapon work on vehicles (but not on titans). Imagine this with the Kabal of the poisoned tongue ...
Edit : it's called Metallotossine potenti (powerful metalotoxins?) and yes, If I'm not mistaken, for 2CP poison tongue will wound vehicles on 3+...

It's good but it's still a tossup. Red grief extra speed and reliable charges is great, and cursed blade hanging out with s5 wyches and 6s reflecting damage back is solid too. But yeah we do need to see what extra toys strife will get in the supplement.
