| To be honest, I'm just going to give character access to those who have actually shown recent interest.
Just give me another day and I'll have the rest of the sign up material you need. | |

| Username: Cavash.
Character Name: Hel’yurt Kellion’esh.
Age: 499.
Origins: Born into a spiralling world of fast paced chaos, Kellion’esh quickly learnt to shun outsiders to preserve his own life. Son to a female Hellion who’s name never carried any weight for it to be remembered, Kellion’esh was forced to join the Corrosive Corvus Hellion Gang.
From a young age he fought and murdered, pillaged and stole to serve his own self centred thoughts. Within the Corrosive Corvus he was considered a rogue, even by a Hellion’s standards. Whereas the other members would stick together to ensure victory, Hel’yurt was known to go his own way and betray his own kind to ensure victory.
On a daring raid into the lands of the Severed Hand Kabal’s territory, Hel’yurt was responsible for the destruction of an entire weapon manufacturing complex which crippled the Kabal. The blast, however, knocked him from his board, leaving him stranded at the centre of enemy territory.
For two cycles he crept through the streets, finding food and refuge wherever he could. If he had no money he would steal, if nobody would share their home he would hang them in the street. This dark time in his life, however, almost led to his downfall.
Through a market he strolled, head shrouded beneath his hood. Blood rained down upon the silent crowds as the masses marched to and from the workhouses. He, however, came across a market place unguarded and wide open for looting. Happily he loaded up his pockets, stealing the drugs on display. He took all, not caring for their hazards and uses. Whatever he did not want he could sell. Happily he smashed open a crate and reached down, grabbing the small phials that sat sparkling in the crimson half-light.
This drug that was labelled ‘Coldmind’ brought a euphoric calm to him, and for days he thought over every decision with such intensity that the average person could not see his logic. He killed mercilessly yet did not smile as he peeled the faces from his victims. In two days he travelled a distance that would have taken weeks to achieve. It had brought him to the Final Breath.
He found a home within the ranks of the Kabal, bit soon the clarity brought by the Coldmind was replaced with a storm cloud that broke him down into a feral beast. He Murdered fifteen Kabalite Warriors in the field as the drugs in his veins broke down, leaving him only with a rabid addiction.
Service History: During his time in the Final Breath, Kellion’esh has been responsible for numerous rebellious victories. Often he had gone against the orders of his superiors, seeing their ideas as foolish, and on each occasion he has brought his strike force victory.
His most famous victory was against the Adamantine Guard Space Marine Chapter. In the dead of night he forced his men to approach a fortified fortress through a system of rivers and sewage pipes. Easily they had broken in and placed Vortex Charges around the battlements. While the Imperial Guardsmen slept he released a powerful nerve gas into the air, causing each Guardsman to cough up his rotting organs as they lay helpless and paralysed.
Even though the Space Marines were quick to retaliate, they could not stop all of Dark Eldar infiltrators, and as Kellion’esh broke out he activated the Vortex Charges, causing the fortress, the Space Marines and the slowest of the Eldar to be consumed by the dark flash of a momentary black hole.
Specialty: Kellion’esh is a great tactician who personally specialises with demolition and destruction of fortified positions. Personality: Hel’yurt is almost monastic in his silence towards outsiders. He shuns those born of tube and seeks not to be disturbed, fearing relapse into his mind rotting addiction. He does, however work and co-operate with his squad out of necessity, knowing that the focus that his tasks bring keeps his mind on track. His squad, while he may not get along with some of the members, are a rare few people who he allows to hear his voice without having an overwhelming urge to shed blood. He is also very vengeful and holds grudges for as long as he knows that the offender is alive, even though he does carry them out after the death of his victim, targeting their family.
Appearance: Kellion’esh’s pale face is offset by his hip length black hair and the tribal scarring that serves as a constant reminder of his Hellion roots. He has high cheek bones and artificially coloured emerald eyes with teeth that are sharpened into fanged points. He usually wears a black hooded cloak, as to hide himself from the world around him.
Equipment: Ghostplate Armour, Shardcarbine, Splinter Pistol, Three Plasma Grenades, Close Combat Weapon (Angel’s Touch) and a hooded black cloak.
Other: Hel’yurt has a great aversion to Combat Drugs of any sort because of horrific, life ruining previous experiences with them. He is prone to relapse, however, and detests all life, wishing only for eternal silence.
Quote: "Through the ever shifting glacier of time I roam aimlessly, waiting." "For what?" "The perfect moment to steal away your final breath."

| Just doing this for my own purposes when I make a character. I already like the situation with Cavash and Shadow.
Shadow - assassination and sniper (Dark lance) [hates people associated with Hellions] Malys - close combat/assassin and stealth [prior Wych] KnightSeer - close combat berserker type [Haem altered, prior slave] Ruke - TBD Cavash - strategy and demolitions [born of Hellions, prior ganger] Thor665 - TBD | |

| I liked your drug background possibilities paired with Cavash as well Scounting isn't shabby (tracking also, invariably we'll be chasing down someone at some point). I was considering some of our other holes and came up with piloting, tech expert, gun specialist, and diplomat/face. There's also the ever needful 'medic' (haven't played a game yet where someone with healing/medic powers wasn't a good idea to have in the group). I like that we already have a mix of street savvy and knowledge of some other cultures mixed into our gang. I'm probably leaning towards doing a techspert type role, though I want to see the Kabal background so I can have some tie ins with my character - I've got about three rough outlines I'm considering though, so something should mesh well regardless of what you and Ruke do. | |

| Thanks Thor. The only other pssibility I charecter I could think of would be a Scourge who lost his wings, but he'd be so sad that he wouldn't survive my first post I think Techspert is a great way to go, although you could incorporate gun specialist in slightly, such as re-builds and repairs. I look forward to seeing your charecter post. | |

| Some excellent character development! I;m looking forward to seeing how this works out I can possibly handle some of the 'face' side of things, Keshariel being used to putting on a show. Sometimes it's useful to have a pretty face too ... The only thing I'm concerned about with a loner who hates everyone is that ... well, why is Kellion’esh working with us, and why do we trust him with our backs? Just something I think it would be helpful to sort out before we start. Since Kellion’esh is known for getting his own people killed, I think we need to get something down before we get going. Cavash, you said he distrusts outsiders, are we his current 'insiders' so to speak? Just throwing some ideas around. If we need someone with some idea about medicines/healing and no-one else has this niche filled, I can give Keshariel a bit of experience with treatment in the field, because you're right, the party with no medic dies | |

| Well, I imagine that, seeing as he is working with the other trueborns, that he would trust them and even respect a few. He wouldn't want to get those people killed, and if they saw the others as worthy then he probably would not have too much of a problem with them. Oh, and he only tends to kill his own people if he knows that he will come out on top, but reading the other charecter profiles I don't think that it would hapen. He would probably be quiet around the others at first, but if he is getting paid and knows he would struggle having the others killed then he would most likely leave them. If he gets annoyed you can expect him to be hostile, however. | |

| I'm going to repost this since I think it was overlooked the first time: Just a question. I didn't understand what you meant by "You must post in 3rd person paragraph form. No chat speak, no ‘**’. " exactly, so I posted something from the SoO thread and was wondering if it would be acceptable? (it was the "no chat speak, no '**'. that threw me off) - Quote :
- Kais Lel quickly takes command of her squad.
"Shas'len'ra, see to the drones, make sure they're in top shape. If anything goes off I don't want to find out one of them has a problem in the last minute.
Gal'leath, monitor the goings on at this "social gathering", if you notice anything out of place, even the slightest detail, inform me at once.
Kauyon Mont'ka, I want you to do a comprehensive scan of that compound, I want every airvent, electrical conduit, and any secret passageways plotted. Be cautious to stay underneath their radars though, the last thing I want is to jeopardize Aun Yr'eil or this mission. Keep Mon'wern'a and Shi updated, they're point men this mission.
Mon'wern'a and Shi - Cloak and stand ready just outside the ship. If anything happens, you're first in. Protect Aun Yr'eil, find cover and wait for reinforcements. If anything happens to Aun Yr'eil, you better hope that a bullet finds you, because what I'll do will be far less kind...
This may be a peackeeping mission, but these imperials will turn on you as soon as it become beneficial for them to do so. I want this mission to be as cool as ice. You all have your orders, now on the bounce!"
Without a word the entire stealth squad quickly moves to their positions, starting work on their assigned tasks. Kais Lel takes up a position watching the ships external cameras for any sign of threat to the manta itself. I'm cool with all the other rules, but I don't like the "my character says "blah blah blah" and then does whatever" style of roleplay. I enjoy getting into the character and that keeps you at a distinct distance. As long as posts similar to the one above are fine, im in. It would be really helpful to have an example of how, precisely, you would like the posts for the game to be written. **EDIT** If I do in fact join, I will take up that "medic" role... | |

| Ok guys. I finished up the basic information of the Kabal of the Final Breath and other basic information I think you should know. I was kinda writing it in a rush to please forgive me. It's not my best work. I also probably missed something important so if I did or if you have any questions.... Just let me know. You can find it all on the second post of the first page.

| Ok, excellent, count me in, ill try and have my character done sometime tonight.
Remember, I'll be a "medic", and assuming that Thor doesnt claim it, ill be taking a shredder (as I can only imagine they would be better in RP than on the actual board... XD) | |

| Oh yes, much better. The rules for the shredder on the tabletop is understandable, however in RP form we're not restricted by balancing issues. A shredder can cut through imperial guard flak armour like butter and even kabalite armour will have difficulties protecting against it due to the large amount of exposed areas where only the body glove protects you. Just in case no one saw on the last page. I posted up the rest of the information and all the basic info on the Kabal of the Final Breath. Go check it out and make/fix your characters | |

| Xull Ulviir'to - gun specialist and urban warfare. An old warrior with a torubled past, his battle experience will be useful, but will old regrets or feuds effect his decisions? - Spoiler:
Username: Thor665 Character Name: Xull Ulviir’to Age: Uncertain, though at least 900 years. Origins: Xull’s origins are cloaked in mystery. But it is not because he is hesitant to speak of them, it is simply because there are some questions as to the truth of many of his tales (since they will often have discrepancies even with each other). What is known for certain is that he is Tubeborn, part of process batch #1029-x7382 of the Dark Ark incubation factory.
He grew up on the streets, like most Tubeborn do. Working odd jobs in factories, fighting for a place in society, killing just to survive. At some point in his past he did something (tales differ from a story of murdering his best friend for the position, winning a duel with four other hopefuls, or simply bribing the Recruitment Master. In any case, he moved up into the ranks of the Kabal of Final Breath.
Service History: Xull’s service history is old and littered with commendations. It is clear in his youth he was a bit of the wild child, trying new things, consorting with the enemy, mixing strategy and pranks with an amused disregard for the consequences. Though some of these tales are quite entertaining, it is hard to get Xull to speak about them too often without muttering commentary about the mistakes of youth and explanation of how he did not properly serve the military focus.
His career seemed to take more focus under the command of the Sybarite Yllanya Tier’seiss. To read the battle reports and commendations from her it was clear in the beginning that she found him a capable, if unruly soldier who treated war more like a game than was to her liking. The reports slowly take on a different focus as they go on over the centuries. He became her right hand in the squad, a solid taskmaster and capable soldier who repeatedly showed his worth and learned the value of command. Xull’s tales of this time seem proud, he recounts his weapon training and mastery of assault tactics. Sybarite Yllanya’s squad was well versed in urban assaults, and often drew point position for many difficult raids, and Xull was often on the front lines of any such action.
Of Yllanya Xull speaks very little. His common remark is that she made his thirst less painful and his path more focused.. He does not care to discuss her much more than this and generally returns to interesting tales of his battles and victories versus various alien foes or odd anecdotes about his times carousing in Commoragh’s various districts or his odd outstanding feud with the Kabal of the Baleful Gaze (whom he derogatorily refers to as Eldarith Subast (artificial Eldar)). There have been a few unfortunate incidents involving him and the Kabal, some have put Xull into the care of a Haemonculous, others have cost the Baleful Gaze some warriors. It is a matter yet to be decided.
Though often cited for his battle prowess, it was not until quite late in his career that he advanced to the Corpser Elite. Most suggest a sad lack of ambition in the man as the fault for this, as he often overlooked promotion to stay within Sybarite Yllanya’s squad.
All that changed on one very fortunate day during a siege of a mon’keigh instillation of no small worth. Archon Zerith himself was there leading the campaign. Sybarite Yllanya’s squad was under heavy fire from a mon’keigh unit and Xull was flanking with his Shredder to put an end to them when he spotted a large unit of mon’keigh assassins moving in towards Archon Zerith’s position. Reporting in to Yllanya he was told in definite terms to see to The General’s safety first. It took him a bit of time to reposition and execute the assassins, their crackling power swords of little use against the barbed monofilament wire that encapsulated them in the trench they were sneaking through. It was somewhat unfortunate that, by the time he returned, his unit had been butchered by an overwhelming press of mon’keigh.
Archon Zerith expressed honor to him for his loyalty and devotion to his orders and promptly rose him to a position in the Corpser Elite, noting that even one not born true could still serve as the finest and most loyal of soldiers.
Specialty: Urban assault and firearms.
Personality: Grouchy, is perhaps the best word to describe Xull. He is somewhat taciturn and grim at almost all times, though occasionally, if he feels relaxed, he can prove to still have tinges of the young wild child that his earliest disciplinary reports indicate he was. He seems to enjoy trying to educate the ‘children’ who serve in the Elite with him, telling them stories and offering his opinions on all sorts of matters…sometimes a bit too much at length, as it is noted he occasionally likes to hear himself talk too much once he gets going.
Appearance: A touch on the short side even for a Kabalite Warrior, there is a gravitas about Xull that makes people look up to him even so. His features are proud, but show faint lines and traces of age creeping in, as though the pull of She Who Thirsts is strong on him. His once black hair is now peppered with gray streaks, and out of combat he walks a touch slowly. Yet his dark eyes glitter with a deep brightness, and in combat he comes alive and moves like a Warrior flush with youth, as though he has some driving purpose in every death he claims. His armor is always kept perfectly polished, the white plates gleaming brightly and every inch of the uniform exactly correct by Kabal standards. The only odd part of his uniform is a small Sybarite insignia worn over his left breast on a silksteel weave. It is worn with age and a corner of it is jagged, as though melted off by a blast of laser fire. Despite his tales about everything else, even with his confused mixing of tales, he never discusses the insignia’s origins.
Equipment: Ghostplate Armour, a Shard Carbine (or Shredder, depending on Ruke’s call), a Splinter Pistol, three plasma grenades, and a detachable curved rifle bayonet.
Quote: “Kids...a century old and already they think they know all there is to know about cutting a man’s throat.”
Example Post: He wasn’t sure if the two other Corpser Elite glanced at him for instruction, or were just glancing at him to verify that he was in position, but Xull had never needed much encouragement in a situation like this.
“There are four mon’keigh in the next room, at least three are armed. I am point, you two cover from the doorway. I’ll cut to the left, that’s your left, if one of you manages to hit me make sure it’s a kill shot, because mine will be. If either of you start shooting at an unarmed target before the others are dead I’ll be discussing it with your commanding officer later. The torture comes after the room is pacified, not before, those are the regs.”
He paused to glance at their squad markings and nodded to himself. Then he took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment, his hand reached up, fingers touching the damaged insignia on his left breast, whispering ‘four more’ quietly to himself, before he raised his shardcabine meaningfully.
“This reminds me of the Raid on Fel-kirk station, that’s why I always clarify which way I’m going when I enter a room,” he noted, “I might show you the scars later if you’re interested. We watched an entire star system burn that day, and if you want to ever see anything half as beautiful you better make sure those rifles are ready – here we go.”
His armored foot snapped up and kicked the door in.
---------------------------------------------------- Kiira’eyl Jaronia - madcap pilot and force of nature. A spoiled child of a noble house, addled on drugs and her own superiority. Everything is a joke to her, and though she's loyal (enough) her inability to stay focused or to consider anyone she thinks of as beneath her may make her more trouble than she's worth. - Spoiler:
Username: Thor665 Character Name: Kiira’eyl Jaronia Age: 86 Origins: Kiira’eyl was born noble and true to an old noble family that still wielded respectable power within one of the satellite realms. The House of Jaronia occupied a palatial estate where they were worshipped as gods by their slave chattel and even the tubeborn of the realm knew their place. Kiira was a self-styled goddess of the sky. She enjoyed flying around the realm on her jetbike or even a borrowed skimmer vehicle (indeed, there was an unfortunate incident once with one of the family’s ancient pleasure cruisers…though Kiira insists that the presence of the Mandrakes was assuredly not her fault.)
All was well enough until a rival Archon decided he would be a better caretaker of the realm and began an attack to claim the realm as his own. House Jaronia was almost assuredly doomed until enough plaintive pleading (and a hefty application of wealth and called in favors) brought the Kabal of the Final Breath in as support. Archon Zerith routed the attackers with contemptible ease, and even offered some deep opinions about the lackluster quality of Archon Jaronia’s defenses and soldiers while he allowed his soldiers a decent furlough on Jaronia’s estate (further depleting it of wealth and baubles, as well as a number of retainers and slaves).
Despite this, Jaronia was well impressed by the battle prowess. One of the promises he’d made was to provide a number of men and women to serve as soldiers for century long service periods in the Kabal. Seeking to improve the situation of his own household he sent a number of his children out to the Kabal along with the usual tithe of commoners, figuring if he sent enough of them he’d manage to get a few back with the knowledge he desired.
Service History: Kiira ended up as part of the Corpser Elite through a few odd coincidences and a bit of dumb luck more than any true brilliance on her own part. Young, brash, and haughty, she tended to aggravate most of her commanders. Combined with this was a streak of pride and impulsiveness that had her often volunteer for missions. As a result she was often placed in truly dangerous situations, though it was more of a situation of her skilled Kabal comrades and a bit of odd luck that allowed her to keep coming back from the missions relatively unscathed.
The one thing that she did clearly excel at was piloting though. Her sense of confident invincibility combined with reflexes and hand eye coordination of the highest levels meant that whenever she was placed into a cockpit or behind the controls of some vehicle she was able to perform far beyond any expectations.
Combine a Corpser officer wanting a few pilot specialists and Kiira’s previous officer, desperate to get her out of his unit, and you have one of the youngest members ever to wear the Corpser purple.
Specialty: Piloting skills.
Personality: Speed! Kiira lives a life based on that one word. She talks fast. She makes friends fast. She makes enemies faster. She forgives fast, and attempts to murder fast. She thinks fast, and any waiting around after she has made a decision is time wasted. The faster she’s done with something the faster she can have some fun. She takes drugs to enhance this situation, Jetz, Quiksilver, Hypez, Adrenalight, anything to keep the world moving at the speed she thinks is right. And if someone doesn’t like that, to hell with them! They’re probably commoners not fit to regard one of her fine birth. All commoners are trash anyway, barely better than slaves, really. But mostly Kiira just wants to have fun, and go fast, and not worry about the consequences because she’s planning to be long gone before they catch up.
Appearance: Of average height and slender build, Kiira is still quite young by Dark Eldar standards. She wears her crimson red hair cropped short in back, with a sweep of it flopping down low across her eyes in front. She always wears her ring which bears her family’s crest (and also keeps a hidden shot of drugs in it, just for…emergencies). Her face is attractive, though the features are slightly pinched and the nose perhaps a touch too large (a probable sign of inbreeding, most likely). Her mouth is almost always twisted in a grin, and her red eyes almost always gleam with amusement (or drugs, it may be drugs)
Equipment: Ghostplate Armour, a Splinter Rifle, a Splinter Pistol, three haywire grenades, a retractable wrist blade and a curved sword worn jauntily on her hip.
Quote: “Bored now!”
Example Post: Oh by the Dark Muses…we’ve been here forever. The rest of her Corpser Elite unit were still in some very focused discussion with the Hellion gang leader. It was clear that the Hellion had some useful information she supposed. Or so they’d been told. The mission was important to this situation too, she recalled that. She might have been a little high right then, but then she’d never double-dosed with Hypex before so it had totally been worth it. She was pretty sure the mission involved tracking down some stolen shipment that the Hellions had taken, and then something about neutralizing their threat.
This Hellion Gang Leader was so stupid too with his dumb fang mouth mask and chains hanging off him. *So* passé. Oooh, I’m a Hellion, I like chains and fangs. Yeah, big surprise. The others were still talking to him, but that was a little silly at this stage, wasn’t it?
The only question now was, did she go and take a skyboard for a joyride, or just shoot that Hellion in the corner who kept making lewd faces at her – he was *so* beneath her it was rather insulting he was even trying.
Probably ought to do both, Kissa figured, she’d have time.
-------------------------------------------- Syndibaar’untax ‘Syntax’ Fill’ithilaryn - tech and language expert. As cold as ice and as measured as a timepiece, Syntax is here to get the job done. She doesn't make friends, she doesn't have friends, she doesn't need friends. She needs the mission done, and done right. But beneath the perfect mask does there lurk madness, murderous rage, or just simple fear of the inner gnawing? The most perfect crystal can still hide flaws. - Spoiler:
Username: Thor665 Character Name: Syndibaar’untax ‘Syntax’ Fill’ithilaryn Age: 215 Origins: Syntax came up exactly as she’d always planned. Since the day she’d been old enough to conceive of it, she had desired to be part of a Kabal. Not for her was the jaunty flashiness of the Wyches, or the moronic brawling of the gangs, or even the inhuman brutality of the Covens. For her it was always the Kabals, always.
She worked hard, trying to make herself as skilled as possible in the matters of warfare and combat. She would practice with blade and fist. Learn the intricacies of a rifle, dismantling it down to core components, cleaning, and reassembling it. She honed her marksmanship and combat drills, practicing them like an automaton. So it was, when the recruiters came, she stood out as one of the best.
Service History: One of the best, that was what she was, and that was what there was to know of her. It became clear that what she saw lacking in Dark Eldar society was a clear purpose and order. Order, a sharp and cold and clinical order, an order she saw as needed. That was why she had joined the Kabal of the Final Breath. They understood the clinical need of order, order was what would hold back She Who Thirsts who represents Chaos. It was a simple equation, with a simple answer.
That is what problems were to Syntax, just equations to be overcome. She worked hard to make herself useful to the Kabal beyond just being a warrior. Once within the structure she realized that the people who could kill and do nothing else went nowhere. She wanted to go somewhere. It was simple. She studied machines, computers, languages, anything to separate herself from the mass of common rabble. Her focused and meticulous mind lent itself well to languages of many varieties, as well as the coding language of computers, it was here that she found her niche. From needing to hack into a network to disable a planetary defense system to just triangulating where battlefield commander communications were coming from so the Kabal could take out the head, Syntax began to rack up many battle honors.
If it pleased her, it was hard to tell, though she accepted every laurel with a soft nod of her head that just seemed to suggest that she already knew what they were telling her – she was good, and she was needed. Eventually she was promoted into the Corpser Elite, where such focused devotion would unquestionably serve a useful purpose. Syntax is pleased, because it’s another step towards where she needs to be.
Specialty: Programing and maintenance of hardware, also language skills.
Personality: Syntax is distant. She keeps her emotions under odd check, though on rare occasions it is possible to get her to reveal a snap of anger, or a small smirk of amusement. But her cold exterior mask is one of the most important things to her, for she cannot afford to ever let it crack or slip, because to let others see underneath it might allow them a chance to hurt her. Her mask is too difficult to hurt, behind it she is safe.
Appearance: Tall for a Dark Eldar, thin and statuesque, Syntax would be quite desirable if she bothered. She wears no makeup other than occasional smears of grease or sealing liquid from whatever device she was working on earlier, her long, straight, black hair is kept sawed off at her shoulders occasionally a little jagged as she will cut it to remove solvents that landed in it, or snarls on pieces of gear,. She wears no jewelry and her only signature item is a pair of gold rimmed optical enhancing glasses that she wears at all times in case she needs to work on fine computer circuitry.
Equipment: Ghostplate Armour, a Splinter Rifle, a Splinter Pistol, three haywire grenades, a curved dueling knife, her electronic tools.
Quote: “As expected.”
Example Post: “The automated defenses will be down in a few moments,” Syntax announced as she plugged her portable console into the computer station. The other members of the Corpser Elite with her dropped into defensive positions to offer cover as she worked. The hallway they were set to assault down was littered with defensive laser turrets and it would take too long to destroy them all.
“Can you handle this in time?” Asked one.
“It is a rather complex bit of coding, but, as expected, Tau always use very predictable encoding. We’ll be through in a moment.” Syntax’s voice was, as always, devoid of emotion or excitement.
“Good enough.”
In a few more seconds, her hands flying across the keyboard, Syntax nodded in accomplishment. The laser turrets hummed as their barrels lowered into a rest position. The way was now clear. With a roar the Corpser Elite surged forward as one. As they did there was a sudden series of beeps, the las turrets suddenly hummed back to life, turning as one towards Klortos. The close combat expert snarled in confusion as twenty lasers pulsed to life and blasted him to smithereens. The rest of the unit scattered, diving for cover. Even as they did so though the lasers again fell silent, this time with a few sparking snaps as they all overheated.
“Interesting, it must have been an unforeseen security measure. Apparently my countermeasures did burn them out afterwards.” Syntax glanced down at Klortos. “Unfortunate.”
If any of the other Corpser Elite remembered that Klortos had been drunk three nights ago and insulted her they chose to keep that thought to themselves.
Ended up making three of them up as writeups (my usual reason for being a GM over a player, I create characters and want to play all of them...blargh!) I figure one way or the other the other people will end up filling in some roles, and then I'll take the character I think is most needed (or...is most amusing) to finish out the crew. Though you can feel free to make requests if you think one looks superior to the others, or if there is one you'd rather not see hit the game. | |

Character Name: Zekla Ororos
Age: 342
Origins:
Zekla began his training in the pits of the haemunculai. Apprenticed to an apprentice of none other than Urien Rackarth himself, Zekla rarely saw more respect than the common slave. That did not stop him from learning however, and if there was anything that Zekla was voracious about, it was perfecting his craft. However those ideals were never to come to fruition. Being an apprenticed in the Prophets of Flesh awarded Zekla in the form of being allowed to partake in the raid against the Tau world of Rubikon. While the mission was overwhelmingly a success, the forces of the Dark Eldar were not completely without loss, Zekla was mortally wounded. However, the amount of pain generated that day fueled Zekla, keeping him alive long enough for him to use his homunculaic arts to repair himself. Being supposed dead and stranded, Zekla took the small amount of remaining time before the Tau reinforcements arrived to scour the world, and chanced upon a discarded webway portal device. A minor repair later, Zekla found himself once again, in the dark city.
Free of his masters Zekla had a radical idea. If the Tau, inferior race though they were, were capable of even damaging one of such a superior race, then perhaps there was something to their "military doctrine". Zekla had heard of a cabal lead by an ancient archon which held to just such a philosophy, but knew that they were an elite organization, and in his current state there was no way he would be able to join. Zekla took up training in the wych arenas, spending decades perfecting the art of the blade, and then moving into the elite members of the reaver jet bike squads. When Zekla no longer saw progress, and determined his piloting skill to be among the best, he stealthily left the arenas and took up arms at the side of the Kabal of the Withered Spirit.
A small raiding kabal, numbering less than 100 members, Zekla perfected the use of kabalite weapons over the next 6 decades, gaining skills with the splinter rifle, the dark lance, the shredder and the blaster. During a raid against a gang of hellions encroaching on the Withered Spirits territory, Zekla took his chance. He murdered his squad and escaped into the darkness of the Commorragh allies, the aftermath of his actions saw the fall of the Withered Spirit.
After nearly a century, Zekla finally made his way to the Kabal of the Final Breath.
Service History:
Zekla arrived at the doors of the Kabal of the Final Breath as its host marched to war. Making use of the opportunity, he found a squad sybarite and asked to be allowed to prove himself on the field of battle. The audacity of this dark eldar ammused the sybarite, and he decided to allow the upstart to join the squad, for he appeared as though he would make a rather good meat shield. Unarmored, and having only his close combat weapon, a signature blade resembling a scalpel, Zekla went to war for the first time with the Final Breath. His foes a batallion of imperial guard. That day, Zekla earned his place among the ranks of the Final Breath.
With the uncommon ability to make flesh repair itself using his learned haemunculus arts, his unparalleled skills with such a variety of weapons, and the ruthlessness which he displayed, Zekla quickly rose among the ranks of the Final Breath.
Zekla earned his place among the ranks of the Corpser Elite in a unusual and rare circumstance. A hired mandrake assassin managed to make his way into the sleeping quarters of Archon Zerith. When the Archon retired for the night, the mandrake struck. Archon Zerith was badly wounded before dispatching of the assassin. A short time later Zekla found himself standing before the fading Archon. For the first time in his life, Zekla felt the tinges of loyalty and respect for the ancient being. He used his skills to save Archon Zeriths life and in reward found himself among the ranks of the Corpser Elite.
Specialty: First and foremost, Zekla is a fleshwarper, using his skill to tend to the wounds of his allies, when he deems it appropriate. He is also knowledgeable in all manner of close combat and ranged weapons. Lastly he is capable of piloting small personal craft due to his time spent among the reaver squads.
Personality: Zekla is a boisterous person, and it's not long before you realize he has entered a room. While primarily serving as a battlefield medic, Zekla has been known to let common members of the Final Breath die if they have slighted him for any reason, although he tends to show more loyalty to his squad and members of the Corpser Elite. When he is exposed to close combat, Zekla will use the skills he garnered in the wych arenas to deftly pluck the left eye (eye's being the only organ every being is assured to have) from those he kills. He keeps these morbid trophies in small vials on the walls of his sleeping quarters.
Appearance: Though only apprenticed to a haemunculus, Zekla learned some of their archaic arts, among which was the ability to alter ones appearance. Around the Kabal Zekla is stunningly beautiful, the epitome of what one of the dark kin should look like, and has on more than one occasion taken the breath of new recruits. However, when it is time for the Final Breath to go to war, his demeanor changes, and he warps his face and body into that of a creature that is rumored to have made even a hardened veteran guardsman weep.
Equipment: Zekla carries a large scalpel, which he uses to great effect in close combat. He also serves as his squads special weapons technician, preferring to use a shredder to the typically seen blaster, as the flechettes inflict copious amounts of glorious pain. He also carries plasma grenades, as he has found that the smell of charred flesh... arouses... him.
Quote: "What? Oh yes, I can fix that, but first, let us discuss your method of payment..."
Example Post: It's 6 in the morning... im going to bed...

| Thor: I can see why you might have a problem choosing ... They'd all work well and for myself, as I read them I could picture what Keshariel's probable reaction to them might be. If you need a casting vote at any time I have a very slight preference for Syntax, but it isn't because the others are lacking, it's just a very slight bit more | |

| I think Zekkla fills a nice role that precludes Xull nicely as I think they'd be a touch too similar in some respects. So it's probably down to Kiira or Syntax at this point.
Your preference is noted and appreciated. | |

| Thor- I really like all of your characters. Very well done and thought out without going overboard or making yourself out to be 'uber bad ass kid'. If I had to pick one, I would agree with Lady Malys. Syntax is my favorite of the three.
Ruke- Not bad but... is being apprentice of Urien Rakarth really necessary? I mean, it doesn't even make that much sense. It was just kinda put there as a side note. Also, wouldn't being an apprentice of the prophets of flesh make you a wrack or at the very least a former one? | |

To butcher Hesse; You like a player character in spite of flaws. You love a player character because of them. There's far more fun to have in playing a character who has issues, problems, and weaknesses in my mind than not - I'm happy to avoid being the hero, it's the supporting cast who are usually more interesting anyway. Also, a second vote for Syntax is duly noted - we'll probably have to make her the final choice. (I predict it's the glasses, the only thing better than stern dark eldar females are stern dark eldar females in glasses) | |

| Noctus, he was not apprenticed to Urien, he was apprenticed to one of Uriens apprentices, was very much a slave, and he needed a reason to join a organization that was more militaristic than a standard kabal or coven, going to war against the Tau provided an opportunity to see what a extremely well trained army could do, even when they were of an inferior race. That raid also served as a way to separate him from the covens... So was it a bit much? Maybe, but in an extremely effective way.
As far as him being a wrack or a haemunculai, remember that Dark Eldar aren't born haemunculai, they transform themselves into those creatures. It's reasonable to assume that an apprentice would learn basic things that they could do for their masters, and it's also safe to assume that the Dark Eldar, probably don't put a lot of emphasis on any healing arts so it's likely that they would teach that to their apprentices and make them take care of those activities for customers, so that the masters themselves could focus on their "projects". It's also reasonable to assume that he could pick up other small things as an apprentice (like the ability to change ones appearance).
As far as being a healer goes, I don't think theres any way around not having some sort of a coven background (since the stories of the coven are the only ones that even remotely mention healing of any sort...). And I doubt that covens would let their apprentices go willingly...
Anyway, if you don't like the character, I can come up with another, just will take some time... | |

| So firstly, I was in a hurry when i first read your character so i just kinda skimmed over it. Apologies I didn't see the apprentice of an apprentice... How I did not see that in the first place I don't know....
But as far as the haemonculi go.... I'm well aware that haemonculi are made, not born. What I don't get is why you're telling this because I didn't ask if he was a haemonculus. I didn't even use the word in my entire post. I asked if he was a former wrack.
if you look through the codex, it says that, for the most part, wracks are apprentices of a haemoculus, serving as aids for the witch doctor in hopes of becoming one themselves. thats why i was asking.
I didn't say I don't like the character and I didn't say to make a new one. All i did was ask a question dude. | |
