I probably had the most recent/last communication with Knight Seer. On the 20th he was working on the character, tossed me some stuff, and received feedback. I haven't heard anything since. At the time he sounded quite close - so I'm not sure if I just perceived that wrong or maybe he's just been too busy to come back and finagle with it since.

I'll agree I'm of the 'deadline' mentality.

I'd rather play with him, naturally, but if it's taking this long to put together a character I tend to suspect there will be large gaps between his postings as well, which suggests he's a little tight on time for a commitment to the game.

I'd tend to say make a deadline, stick to it. Maybe bring him in later when he has more time available?

I think that sounds wise. Do you want to give Valkia until sometime around the end of the month, maybe the thirtieth, just in case the charecter is still being worked on?

Well, he's had over a week to work on his character, and hasn't even popped in to say he's still down (though I'm sure he is) since the 20th, but I think what Thor said was wise, He probably doesn't have the time to commit to a game right now.

Also, I understand that some things take time, but making a character should never take a full on week...

My vote is that we start, and let him join in when he has more time.

It sounds reasonable to start within say a week, and letting KnightSeer join in when more time is available is probably the way to go. That way we don't stall and he (or she, I don't know) doesn't have to get left out altogether.

I like Malys' suggestion - an additional week on top of the time he had seems quite reasonable to manage a character, and if he can't manage that then it's pretty much proof positive he needs to wait for a period he has more time to devote to the game in any case. I'd tend to say give him till the end of the month to at least still express interest, and give him till no later than maybe the 2-4th to have the character finished up.

I'll go ahead and drop him a little proddy-prod PM reminder - because unless he's going to say 'drat, yeah, working on it, just swamped!' this whole discussion is fairly academic as the reply might be 'too busy to do it now, go ahead and start'.

We already lost some players with the last lengthy hiatus, usually things like this are best to get rolling while interest is still high as then you're more likely to get solid buy in from the player base which will make for an overall superior play experience with active posters as opposed to a more inclusive game that drags.

Guys, I am defintely still interested in this, but as I said you all can start without me but thank you all for your patience, the extra time and not sending out your Mandrakes/Wyches/Incubi/Scourges...or other messagers of death.

I wouldn't send anybody to kill you, Valkia. I'm not that sort of DEldar... if I wanted you dead I'd do it myself!

Joking aside, it would be great to have you play but I understand how easy it is to get tangled up in real life. If you ever get more free time in the future than I'm sure that you could easily be written in, as long as it's okay with Noctus.
