| Putting together some ideas for painting Sslyth. I'm thinking of going with a bluish or pale underbelly with black scales on top, preferably with some sort of a blue design within the black scales. I found this photo of a Malaysian coral snake that looked promising: I might even be keen to try out the orange-ish face color to add some contrast to the purple and teal that I use. Any other suggestions that you guys can point me towards? | |

| That is crazy how creatures have evolved to display those colorations. I just picked up a Sslyth today and was going to go with the normal color but if yours comes out good I might go with this instead. | |

It will be a little while before mine see any paint, but I'll post them in my painting log when I do(I'll try to post them here too, but it will be a ways off) I'm thinking about painting the topside scales black, and then applying Tamiya clear in blue and a little iridescent medium for that reptilian shimmer I'm basically in the research stage, which usually consists of staring at a cool model and reference photos until I finally decide that I'll never come up with a cooler idea...

| It's one model, take the time to something really cool and different, I haven't seen any Sslyth painted to a high standard, let alone interesting schemes and patterns.
Do it. | |

| I was going to suggest any of the Viper species would look great for Ssyth. When I was younger I went to a reptile expo and saw a Rhinocerous Viper mixed with a Gaboon Viper and it came out looking like a candy cane. Many viper species haver very vibrant colors and patters and have that fave similiar to what the Ssylth have. | |

Do it. I have two, eying a third....but I guess that I would only have to repeat it three times at most...Yikes

I'll check that out. The orange would contrast well with the purple and teal that I use. (EDIT) just did a search for the Rhino Viper pattern and found this page: http://www.bukisa.com/articles/253035_brightly-colored-snakes-with-unique-geometrical-patterns Oh this will be fun

Oh this will be fun You've just saved me a lot of trawling through snake pictures, though I suspect like you this is not going to be easy . Did see one in there that uses all three of my spot colours though, could be interesting to try... I'll let you know how i get on.
