| Thousand Sons released in Feb, I guess. Still a looong time after they announced the next 3 books to finally be getting round to releasing them. | |

| I find it fascinating how long the process has been given the pre-release versions provided to the likes of Evil Space Elves. I would be really curious to know what state the Codex was in when sent through; was it a finalised Codex or just datasheets on loose sheets? Is it intended as some kind of beta version?
If it was finalised, it seems really interesting how long the process has been stretched out if all they needed was to print and ship to get it to market.
With the Tau announcement, that means at least things are moving. It could be three or four weeks until our Codex comes out if there isn't another distraction like Necromunda coming.

| I suddenly see what happened ... The harlequins came to the dark city and put on a play starring our deepest desires using their hallucinogen grenades. We watched as the play unfolded giving us tantalizing clues (announcement at LVO). And what we desire is closer than expected (bols rumors), giving us very subtle hints that it is everything we desire and possibly more (ESE). And at the climax we believed (I know there was a ton of skepticism but even then there was a small flame of hope) that it was going to happen. Then our dream turned into a nightmare as the hallucinogen began to fade (complete uncertainty about the order of release). The nightmare has now hit it's peak (T'au announced to be next) and now we know that our wants and desires aren't as close as we wanted. The play starts to end but their lesson is humiliating and humbling. Patients to know and learn of our enemies before we get to know ourselves. We cannot be risky by diving head first into realspace after the calamity at the heart of our city (Ynnari ... ) But we must instead observe our enemies and prepare. Something is coming ... And we must be ready. (The last sentence may or may not be true) | |

| Ugh. This sucks. But, as I said before. I will give it a fair chance. I will wait patiently for the dex, and if it is a steaming pile of crap like 7th, i will sell off and bow out. I truly am at the end of my rope. No more crappy dex's!
So, on a good note, I would say that people on this forum have a 85% chance of getting 14,000 points (prob more) of my DE models really really cheap.
On a sad note, that puts my optimism of a good DE dex at 15%.

| I'm still under the hallucinogens, but maybe they intended to release the dark eldar first, but got some problems with a new model, tried to fix it fast, failed, then changed their mind and released T'au first, to gain some time.
ESE, blink twice, if you saw a new model dataslate in the codex. No one will notice.

| I think GW is just being fluffy on our release, build our hopes and dreams and then dash them so that they may become stronger as they drink in our pain and anguish. As citizens of the dark city we should embrace and enjoy the ride and when the time is right release our rage on the slave races of the great wheel. We grow strong from pain! | |

| Warhammer Community just confirmed T'au for March, and did not mention Necrons at all. | |

| I've waited so long. I don't care if it's two more months. I'm not playing Warhammer at the moment at all, so who cares? | |

So, here's the original rumours...it's not very accurate, I think. The large release for Aelfs is two months early, no mention of Necrons next month, February might of well have not existed. Either these are false, or something went wonky internally in GW, so these are no longer accurate. This isnt too far off really. In Feb Custodes were still coming out, and we got the Death Battletome, the TS codex, the Necromunda Gang and terrain, and the 2 Shadespire Warbands. We also got the Necro boards, so that moved up from March, which will see codex Tau. Obviously this isnt totally accurate, but I think its down to GW wonkiness. This week of made to order feels like a stalling move, and DoK really could have been a 1 week release. I mean, next week is just Morathi, Battletome + accessories, and repacks. The week after is probably just going to be 2 double kits, so maybe they will throw in some scerery or BB kits. In general I think their schedule got messed up by factory problems, and they probably scrambled hard to announce Xenos stuff after the Custodes Debacle.

The Warhammer Community page also showed two boxes of what looked like ruins, so it is likely that you are correct, and they will release alongsind DoK.

What, are you saying that you don't find their marketing tactics brilliant? The one where they announce your book, take a month off, give a non-commital date for a book that isn't yours, and forces you to turn to rumours, which puts your release somewhere in April, roughly three months after you were initially announced? What possible problems could you have with that?

What possible problems could you have with that? Three words for GW: Star Wars Armada. Legitimately chatting with friends about switching over. I'm tired of getting the sh*t end of the stick from the perspective of product roll-out, rule/codex content, lore, campaign focus, etc.. This is one gamer who isn't going to shift to another army. I'm detaching from daily/weekly updates, I'll show up when I accidentally find out that our codex is being/has been released. If it continues to be garbage, you'll find my models on ebay.

| Just listened to the first 15mins or so of the new splintermind podcast. They discuss the codex briefly at the start. Anybody expecting a steaming turd sandwiched between hardback covers ought to have a quick listen. Those boys are clearly excited about it, and they've seen it. | |

Did they say anything about the actual contents of the codex?

| No they can't talk about that and they make it clear they can't talk about specifics. But give it a listen for sure, it's interesting still and left me feeling excited. I got the distinct impression there is no small amount of change compared to the index, but as I say you probably need to hear it and form your own opinion on it. | |
