Dark Olympiad - Lightweight Round Battles

First one, I'll bet on Wolf Priest. I3 5++ versus I4 4++, plus the usual Chaplain shenanigans? I somewhat doubt Straken getting through this.

Second, it's Emperor's Champion. I don't even care if he's up against almost guaranteed instadeath powerklawing, the Emperor's Champion accepts any challenge, no matter the odds. Only in death does duty end!

Straken simply because he's hardcore and the Rune Priest... isn't.

Big Mek because with the armour saves the contestants have in the fight, the claw will beat the sword. Plus Instant Death always helps.

Straken is a monster in CC.
Big Mek has the better odds.

Ima go with the crowd votes here and say Straken and Big Mek as well. Though I hope in the next division we see a Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun for lolz.

Hmm....I will say Straken and Big Mek.

I like Space Wolves, but Straken is too badass to lose.
I'm betting on the Mek for the other match.

A couple of decent moves up the ladder this last round. Cavash currently holds the lead, but the field is still too tight for any relaxing at the top.

He actually wounds very easily - the Mek's advantage is his 2+ save however.
You are correct that the Champ's sword is only AP 3 though, and that is a big deal now (under 5th edition rules I don't think this fight would be half so heavily favoring the Big Mek in the votes).

His 2+ save (and option of 5+ cover save) should do him pretty well though, his bracket is relatively safe for shooting threats unless the Archon or Autarch makes the semi-finals.

I'll admit Emperor's Champ vs. Chaos Lord would be a nice matchup though.

If I remember right uphold the honour of the emperor prevents him from using cover. Might have got FAQed I played Templar a long time ago.

Big Mek and Straken

Sadly if only Straken was T3 like a normal guardsmen, then the wolfpriest would have a chance

Definitely Straken, and I'm not too sure for the second, both have their strong points. I'll just say the Big Mek though, as it's easier for the Big Mek to sneak that one attack through than the Champion to repeatedly break through the armour.

I dont want to go along with the crowd but if im to beat Cavash i need to vote for the winners not the underdog, although that is no fun .

It will matter if/when I manage the middleweight division - better records will be more likely to be allowed to show up to represent in those battles.

The current plan is to post the batrep sometime mid/late next week and to get the pre-battle for the next one up before/on the weekend. I'll be heading out of country the 16th-27th so hopefully I'll manage to leave you all debating an upcoming battle during that wait.

Yes, that's the current plot. (and most of the entrants are capable of making that weight class as well, so it's an easy shift)

I'm not sure if I'd hold my breath on that score if I were you - it's not exactly the best Ork build for this setup.

My intention is to have the batrep up on Thursday.

New Pre-battle up sometime...thereafter...theoretically prior to my departure on Sunday, so probably Saturday as long as all works out.
