- Warseer says IG Vendettas are now a 25 point upgrade to Valkyries. Well, I don't own (and never will own a legal copy of) Death from the Skies and according to my IG codex, which has not been amended by a FAQ, my Vendettas cost the same as they always did. So what happens now?
Did they post photos of the book pages? Until I see it, or until it is widely reported (or some decent person here posts) I call shenanigans; Random Internet Troll "I totally got the Death from the Skies book, bros! Look at how cool I am for telling you this stuff! LoLzors!" The point you make is part of the reason I feel like this "compendium" is going to be a big let down. If they did some wild changes like that, they'd have to FAQ it. If they didn't people would flip-out (and they already are, and we haven't even seen the inside of a book).

| Reading furher into that thread it looks like the Vendetta change may not be real. The only point change is to the Stormtalon, which is not in any codex and therefore does not need to be FAQd. Sneaky gits! | |

Yah I saw that rumor... and knew it was wishlisting... Like GW would ever nerf such a popular army like that

Was barely a nerf anyway: the vendetta would have cost 10 points less for the drop to AV11 ....a points increase would still be required, so I'm rellieved that 'rumour' turned out to be false.

| The Storm Talon gained strafing run, and had a few price changes.
Storm Talon, Twinlinked heavy bolter- 110
Storm Talon, Sky Hammer missiles - 125
Storm Talon, twinlinked lascannon - 140
Storm Talon, cyclone missile launcher - 145
The digital space marine codex got updated with these changes.
Also the bluebook storm raven has 4 Stormstrike missiles: range 72" S8 AP2 Concussive (not sure why they bothered with concussive it doesn't shake/stun vehicles any-more like it did in 5th last time I checked).

| Okay here's the rundown: - It's a let down. 1. It's out of stock already. 2. It reprints the dogfighting rules from the OOP 40k Campaign book. Otherwise, every vehicle contained within is exactly the same as before. No points changes (except for the Storm Talon). No rules changes (except for the Storm Talon, and losing Deep Strike on all flyers). No reason to get it, unless you want a Stormraven for your blue-book marines and don't have the digital codex, or want one for Black Templars. As mentioned, points are the same, it's a Heavy Support choice, and the Stormstrike missiles are R:72", S:8, AP:2, One Use, Concussive. And it's already been FAQ'd: - Quote :
- Page 68 – Army List, Stormraven Gunship, Grey Knights
Stormraven Gunship. Change first sentence to read ‘Stormravens in detachments chosen from Codex: Grey Knights are Fast Attack and must replace their stormstrike missiles with mindstrike missiles (pg 64).

| BA get Bloodstrike, it's just an "upgrade" to the Stormstrike when you take it for BA.
Basically, the Stormraven entry in the DftS book is "the one true entry" and all others for the other codexes are 1) null and void, and 2) taken as upgrades to the DftS version. So, a BA SR will swap out the Stormstrike for Blood Strike, and the GK SR will swap out the Stormstrike for Mindstrike and move to the FA slot. Some equipment options got cheaper I guess.
[edit] Well, the old entries aren't actually "null and void" but the codex entries are now considered "supplemental rules" while the BftS entry is considered "actual rules."

| Hi guys. I own the book (and can provide pictures but i'm not sure if this is against form rules)
Here's the low down for DE.
We get the Eldar Ace rules from the Crusades book. The Bomber / Fighter is exactly as listed in the book minus we lost Deep Strike as per the FAQ.

| The Crusade of Fire had no rules for DE fighter aces (which is stupid because it had ones for freaking Necrons, as well as factions with no flyers yet). Have they in this book fixed that, even if only by saying DE use the same chart as Craftworld Eldar, then? Seems a bit strange because one of the abilities specifically stated (atleats in the Crusade book) to work on units from codex:Eldar. | |

| So no changes to any flyers other then the loss of deep strike. So Vendetta's, Necron flyers and the rest are the mostly same. Orks get some changes I think but I don't own an ork book so i'm not to sure. StormTalon has a slight difference from what I can tell being a 2 hull point 110 points machine with possible upgrades.
PS Nomic: Our Ace rules are EXACTLY like the ones Eldar got but been slightly reworded to include DE units (you know for the 5-6 roll one).
So the book is a piece of s**t and I'm glad I got to read through it before I bought one (friend has one)
EDIT: To clarify I made scans of the book from my friend's

| Nice that they give Ace Fighter rules that your opponent has to allow you to use, you can actually use any rule you want if your opponent lets you.....
Had CSM opponent who wanted to allow dog fights, it's like sure why not let your Heldrakes have the ability to kill other flyers while you kit it out with a baleflamer to kill troops....

However will GW learn from putting out such an awful book? The first batch sold out in a few days.....
