| That's saying a lot about how GW and independent retailers are are working (not working) together - thanks for sharing that link Lay_Ayanesha. | |

| Do the new flyer rules differ from the Crusade of Fire ones? Did we get an Ace Pilot upgrade? Flyer squadrons?
Is there anything to gain from the book concerning DE if I have Crusade of Fire?

| Not sure if this is a leftover from the "Campaign of Fire" book but from the Death From the Skies update at GW's "Whats New Today" site, they mention
"There are even special manoeuvres that can be taken by pilots, such as the brutal Dark Eldar slash attack"
Not sure what that means of if it was covered in the previous book, but I thought I'd post it, and see if you guys know what it is. And BTW are these rules, and the rules from Crusade of Fire optional or official updates and addons?

| well they are selling squadron boxes of flyers at the same time as the book. Implication is that maybe flyers are 1-3 per slot now? | |

Have you got the book? How can you confirm this?

| They're just another in their line of awful one-click bundle things. Has anyone on here actually bought a one-click bundle? - Games Workshop wrote:
- The Razorwing Murder Squadron One-Click Collection is comprised of three Dark Eldar Razorwing Jetfighters. It allows you to make the most of the different weapons options within the kit, but most of all it gives you an impressive-looking squadron. It's just the thing should you wish to simply add striking models to your collection or to bring some significant firepower to your games.
This One-Click Collection includes three Razorwing Jetfighters.

| Isn't it the least they could do to reduce the price for individual kits in the bundle? Why on earth would I consider buying the bundle anyway? Oh, wait! To save those 10 seconds it'd take to change the "1" in my shopping basket to "3"! Whoot, how nice of them! -_- | |

| The moment a book actually lands in someone's hands we'll see if there are any new official rules or if this is more just an "compendium/update" - that's going to determine a lot for people (including me) since there seems to be no real point to this book. It's just really sad that GW is effectively cutting out independent retailers with this model (and they have been slowly doing this for a long time.) | |

| It seems to me with the shift to hardback Codici and these rule updates that GW is turning from a Miniatures company to a rulebook company. With the advent of 3D printer technology it really was only a matter of time. Considering you can get a 3D printer for home use around $1000-1300 USD, it really isnt surprising. Granted quality may not be the greatest but for the average player ( not the painting scions and modeling mavens that inhabit our dark part of the webway ) do you think it will matter? So they turn to rulebook updates, with fancy glossy photos of ridiculously large armies and attempt to maximize profit margin by making it web only. The only way this can fail is if the buying public doesnt buy it. Think that will happen? Sadly, Im probably going to buy it. In my neck of the woods though it takes a $75.00 order to avoid shipping costs, so a buddy and I will be ordereing two, as they are $40.00 CDN each, if only I knew someone in the UK as 20 pounds is about $30.00 CDN..... | |

Sadly, I think you're right. However part of me hopes this is not the case. We'll find out very soon.

| Just checked crusade of fire, and it does have the Slash attack available to the Dark Eldar Flyers, as well as a rule called "Power from Pain".
Both require an initiative test:
Stats for flyer pilots are: LD-8, I-5, T-3
Pleasure from Pain: When: Start of Assault Phase Test: I Manoeuvre: If the flyer caused a glancing or penetrating hit on an enemy flyer in the shooting phase, it may pivot 90' and then move up to 24"
Slash Attack: When: Start of Movement Phase Test: I Manoeuvre: At the end of the movement phase, nominate one non-vehicle unit that the flyer passed over that turn. That unit takes D6 Str 6 AP- hits.
Both are only usable in games using the Burning Skies rules.

| Rumours from Warseer from someone apparently having the book:
Stormtalon is dropping in points to a ravager with grisly trophies. Valk going down to AV11 (!!!!!!) Vendetta upgrade costs a dark lance.

| At the same time its sad and hilarious how they made these flyer 3x packs for the price of 3 flyers. Usually companies sell things like that for much cheaper.

| I hope nobody buys the book. GW might decide that they can manage without independent retailers if it's a success, in which case my involvement with GW will be at an end. | |

| Sadly I ordered one, I'll have it this week according to GW and I'll share anything in it with my Dark Brethren short of breaking copyright law. Until I see what's in the book I won't know whether or not it's a waste. | |

| Warseer says IG Vendettas are now a 25 point upgrade to Valkyries. Well, I don't own (and never will own a legal copy of) Death from the Skies and according to my IG codex, which has not been amended by a FAQ, my Vendettas cost the same as they always did. So what happens now? | |
