| Crimson Fighter is going to be first real air superiority fighter (since the Vendetta at least)
Also new rumour just in, some weapons are going to be able to wound versus initiative!

| Having seen the new releases: WOW.
Nightspear and the spiritseer are possibly the nicest characters GW have done in ages.
The flyers are interesting, it takes a while to get use to them, the Nightshade looks even more different to the Hemlock.
Wraithknight is beautiful.
Wraithguard are just as stunning.
Maybe I'm biased but this is the best release I've seen in a while.

Not allowed to post links here but they're on Dakkadakka now if you want to do a bit of digging. Having seen the models I love the sniper dude, like the Wraithblades (other than the wierd bit on top of their heads) and the fighter looks very nive, although extremely similar to the Razorwing.

| I'm just gutted that the sniper is failcast and his gun will therefore be bent to hell and back and probably snap off in about 2 hours. | |

| WOW. The Wraithknight is freaking HUGE. I think it's insane price might actually be justified, because it seems as though it is twice as tall as a Wraithlord and puts Riptide to shame. And the new Wraithguard... oh dear, the new Wraithguard. I must get my hands on them! Spiritseer looks really cool, so does the new Farseer, and the ranger special character looks great as well! As for the planes, they look neat, but haven't got me nearly as excited as the Wraith units - and for a good reason. If the rumoured Ancient Foe special rule includes Necrons, this release will have everything I need to make my craftworld Nemirath into a force to be reckoned with! | |

Maybe I'm biased but this is the best release I've seen in a while. I agree that Illic does look really nice. I'm really disappointed in the spiritseer though, he's just kinda standing there with a nice stick, IMO just doesn't really distinguish it from a lot of the other Eldar characters. The fliers should be a good kit. The Wraithknight is fine, a big quasi-titan. Wraithguard are ok too. I'm not blown away though. About on par with the new Tau models in terms of model quality IMO.

zombified wraithblade (with talos tentacle arms) count as grotesque for me, any one else ? :p

| I dropped the bikes from my order and got 2 more boxes of Wraithguard after seeing their Gun and CC options.
The Bikes are not new, just repackaging.

| I can't help but feel immensely disappointed after seeing the leaked pics from WD and what seems to be confirmation that miniatures desperate for an update have not been done.
For crying out loud, you can't just repackage something as dated as the 2nd Ed jetbikes. And 10 Dire Avengers becoming 5 for pretty much the same price?

| The pathfinder character may be one of the coolest models I've seen for a long time. The spiritseer and the CC wraithguards are a must as well. And eventually a wraithknight when I can afford one.
The flyers look nice, but since none in my gaming group has gotten around to using alot of flyers I'll leave them in the store for the time being.

| Well, Flyer has a Starcannons and a Pulse Laser. Thats a mighty combination, allround usefull.
Throw in guide - and thats a serious threat, one of the beggest on the Flyer scene.

| well, after 40 pages + trolling through Dakka i finally got to see the Ranger and the Spritseer. my thoughts on this are that the new Ranger is great, really nice looking model, the Spiritseer on the other hand leaves something to be desired, especially for what is rumoured to be an IC and an HQ choice, looks more like a regular Warlock than anything else. I'll be getting one for my collection, but not to use as the Spritseer HQ choice, i have better Seer models i can use for that.
have to agree with SkySerpent on this, the new fliers do take some getting used to, they are going to look strange sitting on the table next to my Nightwing and Phoenix Bomber, but they really do look good, i'm not too keen on the fin blades behind the cockpit though.
the Wraithblades look good UNTIL you get to that stupid looking fin sticking up off the back of the head piece, i'm going to have to modify mine so they have some kind of mohawk fin or change the head piece so that it flows into that type of fin. the rest of the model is just fantastic though. sadly, since i already own 10 of the old Wraithguard, and don't want to see the money spent on them wasted, i'll be using the new ones in their CC option almost exclusively.
i still cannot see how GW can justify the price of the Wraithknight, even the Dreadknight, and the Riptide didn't cost that much. I also can't justify my paying that much for more than one of those, and i can see myself now standing in the store, wanting to pick one up and ultimately not doing so because of the cost, but instead buying an anime mech model, modifying and GS'ing it, and using the "counts as" rule.
and why would anyone buy a limited edition codex for twice the cost of a regular codex, knowing that in 6-10 years, they have to buy another codex, and their limited edition now becomes nothing more than a fancy paperweight? not me, i'll stick to the regular price codex, which at $50 is still a ripoff, unless the pages are lined in gold and silver leaf.

| The Wraith flyers Weapons sound Dark Eldar inspired. The D-Scythe sends its targets into the Warp, and the other is a "Mindshock Pod" which is described as a terror weapon that projects horror... And they call us the Dark Kin... LE codexes come with a free set of panties worn by Macha... | |

| The flyer is very nice (hey, remember what Tau got!), I think its aesthetic is a little too anime/gundam and not quite enough Eldar, but its still pretty good. Lots of conversion potential Choked about the jetbikes, rather lame move there. The Wraithknight is awesome, exactly what I would have expected. Very well executed. I'm not into giant robots in 40K, at least not yet, but I will eventually get one of those. ........ When I win the lottery. The plastic Wraithguard/-blades are brilliant, althought I wish that the CCW's were a little more inventive than axes, a long, slender blade of some sort better fits the Wraith aesthetic. I am quite excited to see the potential for an all-ghost army, very happy to see that. The Spiritseer is a nice addition. My favourite is the Nightspear, though. Love the model, and can't wait to see what he will add to Rangers/Pathfinders. The cost of this release is worrisome. I will get the codex and a Nightspear initially, then some Wraithguard later on, and the rest I will have to think long and hard about. My son already has a fairly complete CWE army. | |

but anyways they are cool models their not copies of termies unless GW has given the wraith, rules that allow for a 2+ armour/5-4+invul. which seeing as how most Wraiths are constructs they should have had an invul save to begin with since wounds that would fell a mortal being, can be ignored by something that isn't mortal.

| I'm liking the rumoured/semi confirmed rules so far, they sound in keeping with Eldar generally. Presumably they'll still be fleet too, so the running and shooting plus the option to re-roll charges will make them one of the most dynamic and flexible armies, as it should be. Prices are a bit more worrying, I'll have to see what they come out as in pounds sterling before picking anything up. Plastic wraithguard only being about £2.50 cheaper than their finecast counterparts would be especially weak if they go with that. And I suspect I'm going to be very glad I picked up a cheap box of Dire Avengers on ebay. If it was the case that they were releasing them as a snap fit box of five like they did with guardians I could understand. Getting rid of the box of ten entirely and charging almost the same for half as many that presumably aren't even a new sculpt seems unreasonable even for them!
I'm concerned that we haven't heard anything at all about the Fire Prism and Night Spinner at all so far. I planned to add two Prisms and a Spinner to my fledgling Eldar force, I won't be happy if they've mucked them up just to encourage people to buy the knight. Nothing against the knight or anything (though it is a bit bulky), it's just I was always jealous of Eldar playing friends who had Fire Prisms. And Night Spinners are just fun. They could leave both basically unchanged and I'd be fine with that (although the same is true across the codex aside from some points reductions).
