Today my archon kill farsight in a duel muahaha

Well today my Archon Slaughtered:
1: Typhus
9: Chaos Space Marines (All Nurgly)

What happened was, I was playing a skirmish with my friend, He loves himself some Nurgle if you couldn't tell, and he sent out Typhus. I was a little worried at first but it seemed his Typhus only had eyes for my cruel Archon, after around 9 turns of CC his Thypus actually killed himself with a bad roll, sadly. To my surprise however with some great rolls of never getting a one, my Archon came out with no wounds, then he proceeded the finish up the last of the enemy squads

:3 this being only my second game I was so happy!

Daemon Prince (soul trap ftw), 6 Nurgle Bikers, 10 Noise Marines, 4 Sternguad and then, on the 6th turn saved every single wound from 4 heavy bolters, 2 assault cannons, 5 storm bolters and 20 Marines in rapid fire range. But then failed the 2++ on the very last shot from a lascannon :(Isn't it obvious that the shadowfield, huskblade and soul trap combo is under-powered?

started off with his grots but they all died turn 1 and popped the shadowfield on him...but had 2 wounxs left...at this point he joins a cc going on and challenges a farseer....and wins on my opponenets turn! at this point he moves towards rangers and charges them on my turn and wipes them out on the top of a ruin...he manages to live till my turn where he then throws a HWG at a waveserpent and manages to take out the last hullpoint! at this point he is terribly maimaimed by mass dire avenger fire haha so awesome

This was last week but, very cool.

Today, Rifelior charged nine guardian jetbikes with his trusty seven wyches. After overwatch and three rounds of combat...

all jetbikes are dead, and the archon stands with one wych on the opponent's side of the table. Then they were off to claim linebreaker...

The enemy farseer got his revenge though later in the game, he sent five kabalites running, by charging them alone.

Last night, Duke Sliscus, accompanied by the remnants of a Wych squad charged a large Necron Warrior squad, including an Overlord with Warscythe and Mindshackle Scarabs. Whilst his Wyches failed to cause any casualties in the ongoing combat, Sliscus challenged and promptly butchered the Overlord and then proceeded to wipe out the remaining warriors before being charged by a Destroyer Lord which was again challenged and butchered.

To make things even better, all of this was done after he lost his shadowfield to Overwatch from the Warriors! Man of the Match by a long shot!

Today my Archon killed 2 riptides, and a unit of 3 broadsides with their drones. I guess I'll never skip on Huskblade again

Today my archon killed a drednought and 4 wytches. He go a six to hit six fr hwg then another six for explosion lol he was on a rampage. Then assualted a unit of termies that were gun down from 9 to 4

Last sunday my Archon killed absolutely nothing! He charged a unit of Pink Horrors and missed with every single attack.

He did, however, save about 30 wounds, one after another on his Shadowfield in the next shooting phase. My opponent's words beforehand: "I want to see just how good that Invulnerable save really is"

Took Farsight's soul today in a raid against the Tau. Would have finished whatever of his bodyguards weren't downed by the Incubi, had my opponent not conceeded after my turn 3.

The 'Sight bomb is nasty, but without Multi-tracker's (or whatever lets them split fire) is just a 600 point (of 2k, geez) chunk of "yes, that one thing will die". Luckily my Huskblade made up for the lack of wounds caused by 18 warriors, a handful of lances, and a venom.

Taking a Farsight Bomb without Target Locks is just pure idiocy and your opponent deserved to be tabled.

I need to ask a stupid question here. How many points in your games? I've put me DE away because of the "squishy' thing but would love to know how your armies are built. I can't get mine to stay, at all. Especially after the hell drakes and the dreadnought/drop pod spam. just takes the fun out of the game when it's a DE bar-b-q going on. The only question after that is "Fries anyone?"

This will give you pattern, what manouvers are good, and which are wrong. DE are squishy only if inproper care. To win with DE you must understand both your own list, and your opponent list. Pretty important to remember.

ONTOP: Charged grots with fleshgauntlet, and husk/soultrap combo onto farsightbomb. Archon had rr to wound drug, together with 2 pain tokens, from homon. Squad was prescienced. I guess I don't need to say the results

With-respect to your question, it really depends on what you have running around at the stores you frequent. I normally play at 1500 but 1850 is starting to be more normal.

I'm not sure what's going on in your games, but I've never lost to a drop pod army or a Deathwing army. Night Shields are pretty nice, specifically because they nullify Krak grenades and meltas. Dreadnaughts are pretty lame but you can pick them apart when you bring a lot of Dark Lances. Not Blasters, Dark Lances. I find that long range power projection is excellent.

Heldrakes are a pain and I don't have a lot of experience with them--just 2 games in a tournament (shudders). One way is to hover near a board edge, which forces them to go back into reserve or to at least not Vector Strike. You can also ignore them, blow apart troop choices, and then play for the objectives.

You should probably post some lists in the Army List sub-forum or check out Tactics/Battle Reports pages as ravenizer suggested.

He died tanking shots in one game, and failed TWO 6" charges in another.

played apoc game last weekend, had 2 units of 10 wyches, first unit threw 1 HWG at a shadow sword, hit, rolled a 6, rolled another 6, big explosion and took out 2 other leman russ tanks. 2nd unit in the same turn charged a baneblade and wiped it out killing all but 3 wyches in the devastating explosion but again took some artillery with them.... go girls.

Duke Sliscus shot and killed a flying Nurgle Daemon Prince last night. Pew pew!

Vect cut his way through two full squads of Tactical Marines in yesterday's Apocalypse game. Was about to clear a third squad but we had to call the game. Basically did the heavy lifting when it came to getting the Blue Boys out of our deployment zone. Not bad considering that the Ultramarines had a better version of Tau Overwatch.
